Thanx for this nicely explained tutorial! After some of my necklaces opened up, I widened my jewelry making horizon with this. I know now, that I have to make the crimps tight enough, but not too tight, and hopefully the just ordered tool will help me add more stability in general. It’s lovely to grow from practice, but it’s also good to learn from someone, who is an experiened jewelry maker

@@ArtbeadsVideos I still have difficulties with my closures opening up. This didn’t happen, when I started. Could it be the wire causing the problem? I am using three different new wire types at the moment, and with some pieces of jewelry it’s really bad. They open up again and again. The new tool unfortunately didn’t put things right

@Artvideos boy have I struggled with crimping. This is the best explanation I have seen after looking at endless tutorials. Do you have any advice on how to use the fold over crimp ends on metal chain? I think im not doing it right or using the right tools?

Same!!! I am trying to figure it out myself. Guess I’ll have to buy several size crimp tubes and crimp tube covers to figure it out. Her video is good tho.

Thanks for your tutorials! I found some sterling silver 2mm heavy crimp tubes and 3mm sterling covers on your website that I'd like to use for making some Rosaries with 8mm semi-precious stone beads (and 10mm Our Father beads). The heavy would be preferable, correct? Do the covers come in a heavy variety also or would this be unnecessary? Also, sterling silver is too expensive to learn with. I'm a newbie and I've never done this. Do you sell any cheap heavy tubes and covers that I can practice with? If not, can you recommend any? Thanks! 😊

Can you use a wire protector along with the crimp bead and crimp bead cover? And how would you do it,would the wire protector ends also need to be inside the crimp bead cover?
@ArtbeadsVideos Жыл бұрын
You can, it would be added after the crimp tube and then the wire would feed back through the crimp tube after going through the wire protector. We have a tutorial for that here: artbeads.com/design-studio/how-to-use-a-cable-thimble/

Hi! thanks for the video, can I please ask something, when I reach step two with my crimping pliers, instead of folding the tube, it either opens it like canceling the crimp I just made, or even breaks it. I use the right size of pliers and tubes too, so I'm pretty dissapointed cause I've ruined too many tubes already.. Any idea what might I be doing wrong? Thank you :)

Hi! Make sure you are not squeezing too hard when crimping. You want it to be like a firm handshake. You also have to make sure the two strands of wire you are crimping into a loop are on opposite sides, so they will be pinched in place on either side of the crimp. You might be folding the tube from the wrong angle, which is why it's canceling the crimp. You want the crimped sides to be sitting side by side on the station so they fold together like a sandwich. Please feel free to watch more of our videos on this technique: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5mxd4x_adBpeaM

Can I use pliers instead of a crimp tool?
@ArtbeadsVideos Жыл бұрын
Hi there. Pliers won't work as well because the crimp tool has special notches to make the crimps really secure!
