I never used to rate gem such as emeralds, thinking their inclusions made them look almost dirty in some way. However, as my love and passion has grown for gems and minerals I’ve come to admire and appreciate inclusions in gems as they make each stone unique and individual. Almost like giving the stones a ‘personality’ and history.

I just bought an antique emerald ring from Japan. To me, it's the prettiest emerald I've ever seen. It's teal green, and glassy see though with a few inclusions for character. But the unique thing is that when I'm outside in the sun (only in the sun, not under indoor lightbulbs), there are two microscopic mineral fleck inclusions that flash red.

Some emerald from Japan are recrystallize or diamondlite unless you have certificate says it's natural emerald, so be careful buying one specifically online.

The way you describe your emerald sounds like zambian emerald , i believe with oil treatment.

An all inclusive production on Emerald. Indeed a beautiful stone, much treasured for its rarity. It’s difficult to choose a favourite from the big three, but, I am going for Sapphire just for its array of colours. Thank you for sharing.

I'd found emeralds in North Carolina rivers back in 1992, with some rubies as well (which is a different compound completely) They were not gemstone quality, but I tumbled some of each in a grinding medium, and they do look pretty cool. The emeralds were relatively easy to polish. Rubies, not so much. This was a very interesting video.

You know what I would absolutely love? A video on how to create an interesting display of minerals and on how to make bases, name tags, how to attach the stones to bases. What materials you should use and all of that! I'm struggling with a collection too big fur my shelves right now and seeing how to mount them properly would help a lot!

In 2018 I was travelling through Colombia, as a touri you can "work" there in an Emerald Mine for 1 Day, keep everything you find and polish it after the Trip. Dont expect gemstone quality Crystals but the Trip to Chivor was awesome!!!

Columbian emeralds are my favorite. Many years ago, I got an emerald conglomerate and gave it to my brother. He uses it for a door stop. It weighs at least 5lbs.

To know all about these emerald inclusions are so fascinating.😯🟢💎 To see the facts about them, to look inside🔬 of them when they're treated and where they're formed in the ground🌍 is interesting.🤔 I do believe sapphire is the most popular of the three.🧏♀️💙💎 Nice video and see you later.🙂👩🏫🟢

Hi Rebecca! I was wondering if you and the team could make a video unboxing cool specimens from Ontario? I know that Thunder Bay is famous for their amethyst, and I have my own cool piece from there. My boyfriend got it for me as a birthday gift and it’s a big chunk with lots of cool things like deep purple druzy pockets, and orange copper (?) inclusions on the points. It would be super cool to know what else there is in my province!

Highest esteem ? Ruby ,hands down. Favorite ? Sapphire and ruby , opal, tanzanite( and as only I say thus far, if emerald has le Jardin, the garden ,tanzanite has le mer, the sea , right down to it looking like kelp stands and coral in tropical waters. Remember folks , you heard it from me first and minable tanzanite won't last forever...)

Just bought emeralds from hellen georgia mine. I prefer a little carbon, to show it's not a lab creation.
@WakefieldTolbert2 жыл бұрын
Good point. Inclusions prove it's natural! Which is your higher value over lab created. Lab created emeralds have some inclusions and can look nice, but typically don't have the level or pattern of natural emerald inclusions. This is the one stone where "flaws" are actually desirable.

This is one of the greatest marketing schemes of all time, along with diamonds. Don’t get me wrong, I think Emeralds a re beautiful but successfully making an included, often heavily, gem very expensive is brilliant. Giving it a French name “jardin” makes it sound so good but in reality, it’s included AF. Diamonds are just a total scam on the other hand.
