My bluebirds just had a clutch and they fledged thank God. Sparrows came in chased them out and I remove bluebird nest because they took it over. I have been removing sparrows nest everyday. I’ve left the box open this time hoping they leave . If I trap them will my bluebirds come back do you think? This was bluebirds second year on the box. Miss them. They had 12 last year and 4 this year.😢 fledglings still come to my feeders. Made my day to see them so tiny but growing

im going to put mouse glue traps on the key spots they keep landing. ive sealed up a quarter of my soffits with aluminum and they still try to get through it. they particularly stand in the same 3 spots to constantly try to break this spot open. i can tell because the pile of bird crap is like a ice cream machine went out of control. ive had it with these things

Once the eggs are laid a sparrow spooker is a MUST in some areas. It will keep the sparrows away for just enough time. Do NOT put it up until after the eggs are laid.

I have a couple boxes in my yard. Blue birds have been going to one consistently everyday with out being bothered. Today two house sparrows came to the one house the blue birds go to and the blue birds were instantly on them and drove them off. This happened a couple times. So the sparrows went to the other house and the blue birds chased them off that one a couple times but then ended up not caring after awhile. So the house sparrows continued to go to it, taking grass and such. The sparrows haven't gone back to the other house the blue birds frequent. Is there anyway they won't bother each other this year? Or is it just a matter of time the sparrows do something to the blue birds, like kill them? I really don't want to trap anything, let alone kill it. But I don't want to see blue bird young be killed either. Kind of regretting even putting up boxes now.

English sparrows are killers and they're an invasive species. Bluebirds have gone extinct in many areas, directly due to predation by English sparrows. Every sparrow you kill may mean another bluebird will survive. Don't allow your domain to become a bluebird desert. You should be happy about every English sparrow carcass that you can feed to an opossum or raccoon. Do not fret over them.

dude these birds are insane. i had a guilty feeling about helping them. but now im at the point of idgaf. i see them in packs of 3 or 4 attack other birds like a schoolyard brawl flying fast and landing to the ground and hitting each other. im new to my area and never had a problem like this with birds. i didnt know a species could be so insane. i do save the babies that fall from the ceiling or get trapped in boxes and such if i can. but they usually die anyways because they keep nesting in ridiculous places. i seal a spot up, they risk their lives trying to get back in. i get rid of their nest, the nest is back next day.

@@hdtripper1 ive tried everything. my garage is a carriag ehouse and is infested with about 30 of them. ive started the process of replacing ALL my fascia/soffits. ive spent around $400 on materials so far. ive also bought 2 bird box traps and they wont go in. ive done every single thing the internet suggested and they kill themselves trying to get into the smallest hole in my garage. ive tried silver streamers, cds, putting 6 air freshers on a timer to spray every 5 minutes inside. nothing at all budged them. the only thing working is sealing up every hole and continuing to watch them and seal more holes up. then they went on top of my gutters and started pecking under my metal roof to make a hole to get inside my garage. so i had to put leaf guards on the gutters on a angle and then chicken wire in the corner gaps. and yet they still try to get in. these are by far the worst birds i ever seen in my life

man these brids are awful. i bought a house with a carriage house and theyve infested in the unfinished attic. im trying to restore this 1890 place. they ate all the wood soffits and keep going inside. they nested in all the insulation and there is almost none left because the weight makes it fall. theyve cost me prob 2 thousand dollars at least by now. the previous owners let them do this for years. i never seen a bird make a entire new giant new nest within a day of removing the nest. i mean these birds are literally killing themselve to get through barb wire and sealed up holes. they are breaking their necks

House sparrows are not native and they will kill babies , parents of our domestic birds . They kill bluebirds, swallows , very sad . Obviously not their fault since they were brought here in the 1800’s to help kill insects but it backfired. Now they have outnumbered many of our birds .

@@SuperRichie200 They are much meaner than the native sparrows, they'll fly into their nests, peck out their eggs and peck their young to death, and drive off the parents.
