it's called beta because the hormone is called beta hcg, which is produce by the embryo to keep the yellow body producing estrogen an progesterone until about 10 weeks when the placenta starts producing them 😊 Thank you for this video! No one should go through what I've experienced in life dealing with infertility issues like ovarian cyst and also dealing with barrenness for 26 years of marriage I'm from Spain 6years ago I was diagnosed my left fallopian tube was blocked and also I've endometriosis and I don't ovulating I've been to the doctor here in Spain even traveled to Florida USA where I met a gynaecologist because I also have multiple Fibroids we did some test and gave me Clomid to take and fertility drugs I did that no luck. Great info, especially for Canadians. My wife and I have looked into IUI and IVF and all that lovey stuff. I’m surprised at the cost, we are in a Northern small town in British Columbia. For us to do an IUI just to purchase sperm minimum for us is $7000.00. We have sense went into adoption, we will see what life brings. Happy baby creating!

Oh my gosh that is so expensive! Was it because the sperm had to be shipped to a remote place?

@@AllieandSam yes that was part of it. Our clinic fees was more as well. Plus all the extra tests HSG and so on I had to fly to bigger centres such as Vancouver for each procedure.

Hi Sam! I too have PCOS. And we’re looking to start the process. Idk if you all have it in Canada, but I will be doing Invocell, which is an IVF but it’s less invasive, cost effective and because of PCOS, lessens my chances of my ovaries getting hyper stimulated.

How did you find the catheter compared to the speculum? I had an HSG in oct and the speculum hurt more than the procedure. I'm hoping to try one IUI before moving onto IVF. My husband had to freeze speed before cancer treatment, and the frozen sperm is all that we have :( thank you for sharing and helping me feel less alone in fertility treatments. ❤️ our journey has been very private so far

I'm lucky and I don't find speculums too uncomfortable! The catheter is always the worst part for me. I hated the entire HSG though. I'm glad it was easy for you!
