I grew up in Helena from 7th grade through 10th grade: 1966 - 1970. I have such wonderfully fond memories of Helena and Montana in general. We moved to GA in 1970 and I’ve only been back once with my wife and kids in 2002. What a great city. Thank you for this video.

I live in the San Diego area, I'm used to high real estate prices, but these prices were shocking to me. The area looks amazing. I think prices will come down as everyone is slowly told to be back in the office.

I'd like to move to Helena. After living in Missoula, I think the problem I've realized about that place is that it's a place for people who want to come to Montana where they don't have to feel like they moved to Montana--I imagine that living in Bozeman is probably largely the same way, although maybe slightly less hippy and more bougie. When I've visited Helena, it always seemed like a ridiculously relaxed place, with the maximum level of Montana natural beauty, minus some of the nonsense. If I wanted to be in Denver, I would move to Denver.

Hi! Helena is beautiful - and what I’m more familiar with, really. Northwest Montana is stunning as well! I know they’ve seen quite the growth as well, so it would be good to really see what’s available for the same prices and so on. I’m not familiar enough to really make a direct comparison for you, but I’d be happy to connect you with someone up there if you’d like! Where are you living now?

It really is tough to hear of so many who can’t stay, given the housing prices and rental costs. But there seems to be change on the horizon. Not a huge shift by any means. But Bozeman’s rental vacancy rate has hit 7% for the first time in many months (more like a few years) so rents are starting to ease up! I haven’t looked at Helena’s numbers but I’d imagine it’s going to improve as well.

@@gregorystinette8271 We welcome everyone in our state! However Montanans are not too keen on outsiders coming here only to rely on government handouts and welfare further straining our already high cost of living and even high taxes!!! If you’re interested in moving here for the beautiful scenery and also want to be a benefit to our economy by starting your own small businesses here, we are very welcoming! If not, at least get a damn job rather than shopping for section 8 housing which takes even more money out of our pockets!! And regarding your “diversity” comment, we don’t have “too many white people” we have plenty “diversity”!! We do have plenty of welfare-cases sitting on their arses and certainly don’t need anyone to “diversify” Montana and attempt to replace the native Montanans or bring woke California politics with them! This is Montana not San Francisco!
