I really enjoyed Bunny. I interpreted it as being a metaphor for writing. For example, the way it is so difficult for the bunnies to get the hands of their creations correct is analogous to how difficult it is to write truly well defined characters. It also speaks to being willing to kill off your characters/creations.

Bunny is my currently favorite book (and I may have a KZbin video about it shameless self plug), and I just finished All's Well and I loved your insight in this video! Also as a fellow kpop fan, the connection to the idols associated with bunnies was so real (personally I almost always have biases who use the fox emoji 🦊)

I've read Bunny after your vlog and what a ride! Out of my confort zone for the best.

You're selling me on 'All's Well' although I have 'Bunny' on the bookshelves, so I'll probably read that first!

I haven’t read All’s Well yet, but definitely enjoyed Bunny and Rouge. I think you’re right about getting more out of a re-read with Awad. When I finished Rouge, I watched the Barnes & Noble Poured Over interview with her. The discussion around Tom Cruise and how she writes her books in layers was really interesting.

Jennifer, your book discussions are excellent, thank you! I stopped reading contemporary lit a couple of years ago to spend more time with "pre-Freudian" lit 😂 . But I do enjoy contemporary works on audio, so thoughtful critiques like yours are so helpful!

Okay, I'm now sold. I've been umming and ahhing about Mona Awad for a while now, but this book has convinced me to just go for it. I like me some dark academia and I definitely like me some strange (lol). So I guess I'm going to go read these three books in exactly the sort you suggested. Here goes nothing! 👍

Love your videos Jennifer and I get so many great recommendations from you. Just have to say though....I DNFd Bunny half way through. Could not stand it! It made absolutely no sense to me. Now I'm put off on this author forever I think. I agree with you on Wilkie Collins' The Woman in White. That may be one of my favorite books of all time.

I’m with you @Donna-vg2vo. I’m pretty over dream-like, chaotic reads. I suspect my mind is just too linear to enjoy much chaos writing. Too many books I know I’ll enjoy to spend time on struggling with one I probably won’t.
