Whew! This is exciting. Also I've been writing my first draft for almost 2 years so this makes me feel better hearing this. Cuz sometimes I feel like I'm writing so slow!

It can be slow going sometimes!! Rushing has only ever brought me pain so I am a strong advocate for slow and steady wins the race :)

"It is finally raining in Cape Pacifica." I don't know why, but there's something about this line, even removed from context, that just feels so powerful. I'm probs going to be spending the next hour trying to dissect it to figure out what it could mean. Will reading it make me laugh? Will it make me cry? Is this a "This confession has meant nothing" type thing, in which that line will just haunt me for the rest of eternity? Who knows? 19:27 Yeah, I tried my best to condense what I thought was multiple themes into one quick sentence. It was actually something closer to "this felt like a behind the scenes of a mid-late 20s coming of age tale, in which you established your personal identity and came more to terms with who you are as a person." But I thought that might've sounded a bit too dramatic/out of scope. Idk.
@lynndjung8 ай бұрын
that is SO good to hear, thank you! and yeah it can be so hard to sum up theme in a way that doesn't sound melodramatic, but also aren't the best themes a little bit dramatic anyway??

I did sadly put my health at risk in college. Everyone was repeating the phrase “study now sleep later.” So I drank a lot of coffee and put all nighters. Noooooot gooood lolol

Congratulations again on finishing your draft! You talk about MOTHS so passionately! I wouldn’t say I write dark academia, but all of my writing centers on undergrad, grad school, or being a professor in various ways, so I’m definitely intrigued by the genre! 😍 Your concept is SO good and I’m sure your writing is beautiful. I love Lark already! I can’t remember if I submitted a question or not, but I will next time. I’m getting ready to query, too. My synopsis and query letter are pretty good. I’m just worried about bulking up my draft. Hoping to query by summer, though. 🤞 I hope future revisions and your query process goes as well as it can. Your channel is so helpful and encouraging! Not just to me, but to so many. 💜

Oh!! I HAVE to see how your Project Moths BuJo turned out!! Cos im trying to set one up just like yours, but how did you fill up all the pages?? Please!!!🥺🖤
@lynndjung8 ай бұрын
I'm so sorry, I lost track of it in during a recent move and I think I left it in my home state!! I did just start a new one to keep track of revisions-most of my bujo pages after the initial worldbuilding and brainstorming are dedicated to scheduling, keeping track of progress, revision notes, checklists, and other very utilitarian things.

Actually all the questions are very important and informative to learn, I think you should be an author counselor for many writers including me, I am an author for children stories and now I am working on my second young adult novel, hope we could be connected in some way even though I speak Arabic but totally understand and fluent in English.
