When I built my 2 stroke I used sandpaper to set the ring gap, just squeeze the ring against a folded piece, not sure if there is a issue doing this but the rings were nice and straights and the engine ran perfect.

hey sir i found on an audi manual these specs -Cylinder Maximum deviation from the specified dimension: 0.08 mm. -Piston Maximum deviation from the specified dimension: 0.04 mm. So the standard diametre + max deviation is 81.01+0.08=81.09mm and piston 80.975-0.04=80.945mm is it normal to have a clearance of 0.145 (81.09-80.945) ? even tho the standard clearance was 0.04 (81.01-80.975) so the clearance of this engine can go from 0.04 up to 0.13 ?

I'm attempting my first rebuild on my 1.8t AWP keeping everything stock.. Do I need to machine the bore down? Or can I just replace the rings with standard size or would i need to over size?

Van Svenson I love your videos. Is that the way to go instead of the LS I just put my 944 back together after a timing belt broke. I want a faster 944. Check out my videos if you have time and tell me what you think
