Having been one of the ones who asked for a part 2, I really appreciate this video. I have the same duo fiber It Cosmetics brush and have been doing the buffing technique more and more and do find it to be a beneficial step to eliminate harsh lines. Another option I used in the past was the lambs wool paddle brush by Laura Geller. It looks like the size of a doll brush but when smoothed over the face, it eliminates surface product and blurs harsh lines without adding another product to the face. Thought I’d share that one as I’m curious if you’ve ever seen or tried that “tool”/brush. Thanks again for this detailed tutorial!

I’m really grateful for these videos as there’s so little online about foundation powder application. I only started enjoying makeup a year ago, I’ve spent a fortune on recommended liquid foundations, some are great but none are perfect on my t zone. I tried one size powder foundation this week and was blown away, it gives me a totally airbrushed look all over and lasts all day. Why do none of the influencers use these powders? I’m 45, with mostly dry skin but my t zone can be oily. These videos have been so helpful to me. Thank you ❤

I've been stipple foundation and blush since I joined your channel. I stiple with a sponge and like what it looks like when I'm finished. And powder my t-zone, I probably stiple there too.

Thank you for this extremely informative video, Mandy. I've watched it 3 times already to make sure I was absorbing everything you were saying.🤗 Each time I learn something more! I love the Jane Iredale pressed powder, the handy brush and the flocked sponge. They truly make a difference in the application as well as the longevity of my makeup. I look forward to the video on Jane's new product! Have a great weekend.💗

@@MandyDavisMUA WAHOO! I love hearing you talk about new Jane Iredale products. I can't wait to hear your opinion of this new serum!💖

This was so helpful to hear! I've used minerals foundations and powders for ages, but always felt like I couldn't get them to work the way they were "supposed" to be used. BareMinerals videos always emphasize buffing, buffing, buffing...and when your skin is going through an acne breakout, buffing felt terrible and was the last thing I wanted to do to my skin. It also seemed to disturb all the makeup and skincare underneath, and highlight pores too much. I bought so many different brushes to see if that helped, but same problems occurred. Your techniques confirm that I'm not totally of the mark about the issues with (over)buffing---thank you! Your videos continue to help me learn how to do my makeup better :-)

REQUEST: Would you please do a brow video or brow shaping video? I absolutely love love love your brows. Your brows are so feminine and look so beautiful. I am a man and I would love to have brows just like yours. Any suggestions or help you can give will be greatly appreciated. I have no idea where to begin. Thank you in advance Mandy. I second this. Especially since she can give advice as someone who doesn't naturally have a lot of dense brow hairs

I should add ... my brows are black, very thick, and the hairs are coarse and want to stick straight out. I use Anastasia Brow Wax before bed to completely flatten my brows. After 2 months of using ABW, my brows are starting to grow sideways (but still not flat lol). Thanks, Cal.

@@environmentalcanadian2338 I was just browsing on ABH website today to check out their sale. Everyone is having a singles day saving event today. She has a combo of brow powder in two shades along with the brow freeze and a shaper/defining dual ended brush you may want to check out and have on hand to help define and soften your brows like Mandy does. Practice makes perfect so there’s going to be a bit of a learning curve for you. Take it all in stride and don’t be discouraged.

@@susanbowman3865 Dear Susan. That's the nicest anyone has ever been to me on KZbin. Thank you so much for the sale advice. I just purchased the ABH Fluffy & Fuller Looking Brow Kit from Sephora Canada for only $38.00CA. That's such a great deal. Thanks for encouraging me to get this kit in the first place. Thank you so much for encouraging me to go further, I really appreciate it. I can't wait until the combo arrives in the mail and I can start to define my eyebrows with the makeup and brushes. I'll practice like you suggest and I'll try not to get discouraged. Thanks again, Cal.

@@environmentalcanadian2338 aww, you’re so welcome Cal, I wanted to add perhaps you should make an appointment to have your brows waxed by someone with a great reputation to help define the overall shape. Then you go back every couple of weeks for new or regrowth. But whatever you do don’t get micro blading done as it destroys the brow hairs plus it’s very expensive. Something to think about anyway.

I've learned so much from your channel, and really appreciate these in-depth techniques videos. I'd be interested in a part 3 covering questions like, why choose the Ilia powder over others? What about using specialty powders like the Prism Libre or the Atelier bubble powder or the Chantecaille blurring powder? Are these just a matter of personal preference or do the specialty powders actually do something different than the others? The brush selection portion of this one was very valuable, as now I understand why using the different brushes, or not buffing to death doesn't work for the effect you want. I didn't think about using the pressed foundation as a setting powder as I have dry skin, but I do love the finish the Iredale products give so this is a good alternative use for it. Also, Mandy, can you cover some of these in-depth issues when you review the Prism Libre and the Danessa Myricks products? Have not yet seen a comprehensive "how to use" on the Myricks product, and I think a definitive guide on how to get the most out of it and the do's and don'ts for it would be something we'd all benefit from. Thank you for your hard work and dedication on your channel, your instruction is solid and I always click on your new posts!

I may have missed this in the video...buuut :) ... If I'm using a cream foundation/contour...then powder bronzer/blush...I would need to set the entire face with powder before buffing, correct? Also...I typically pass on a blush due to my red cheeks, but I'd like to try one of the jane iredale blushes you've mentioned in past videos. Would you suggest flawless or sheer honey? I'm a light medium skin tone (in summer) with a neutral slightly yellow undertone. Thanks so much for all your help!!
@MandyDavisMUA Жыл бұрын
I do suggest setting with a powder before buffing yes. The buffing action/brush can have a tendency to move around cream products otherwise. I would check out Sheer Honey. I think you would love that one!

Lately for my under eyes I’ve been loving the loose lavender setting powder by Fenty in addition to the exa dark circles corrector in pink. Plus Fenty is having a great sale right now so I was able to pick up some of their other products I adore. Also, Bobbi Brown makeup and especially their under eye cream is a favorite. My Makeup by Mario Ethereal Eyes just arrived and I’m having so much fun playing with it. I’ve received many compliments on my eyeshadow which never happened to me before. Please say you’re getting it and will be doing tutorial’s with it soon. Much love!💖✨💕
