So a guy I know is selling these little cups of butter with propolis dissolved in it, and I used it on a tooth problem, applying it to the gum near the affected area, and I could immediately tell, that my body was very thankful for it, and it made me feel better, and it made the pain to largely go away. So propolis is a definite yes for me.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing. I have yet to try it on a toothache (fortunately!). I tried it once on my sore throat and it didn't help much. I've never heard of people adding it to butter. I wonder why he uses that instead of alcohol.

@@BeekeepingMadeSimple 1. It's faster. Takes like 10m to make. 2. It has no alcohol in it. 3. With something semi-hard, like butter, it can stay where you want it to be, for longer, thus giving it more chance to be absorbed properly. 4. It's just what he had available or something. 5. If you think about it, people didn't used to have fancy stuff like coconut oil, or even olive oil. They had to use what they had, so I suspect that many of the oldest recipes, like from the middle ages, at least from europe, would be based on something like butter, or possibly fat. Something like that.

@@BeekeepingMadeSimple Been thinking about it a little more, and I think that the key difference here is time. How long can the propolis just sit there, on the area of interest, and the longer the time is, the more of it has a chance of getting absorbed into the body. An alcoholic solution will sit on your sore throat for a relatively short time -- 1-3 minutes. A butter-based solution is "heavier", so it can stay close to your sore throat for 10-30 minutes, if you decide not to eat or drink anything during that time. I even tried taking a small piece of raw propolis, about the size of a pea, and just chew on it like bubblegum. After about ten minutes it saturated my mouth, and then went to bed, and when I woke up I could still feel it. so that's a couple hours of application time.

Gooey and very sticky. Is it still ok to use? I made a tincture of it but now I am not sure if I should ingest it. Thank you for this vid

Hmm What did you use in your tincture? Mine were made with alcohol, so they are not gooey. I definitely cannot say whether it is safe to ingest it. If I were you, I would just try again.

Nope. No bears here. We just have wild boars roaming the neighborhoods rummaging through our trash and tearing up the yard.
