The twist and turns of a sport drenched in sweat, blood, tears wrapped in irony. Today Trout has fallen into obscurity, having to pick up the pieces to work his way up the latter once again, Cotto is sitting on top of the world a 4 division world champion, dominating and KO'ing into retirement the lineal middle weight P4P king. Who would have thought this to be the case after this fight was over, this is boxing and this is why we love it.
@louisdavies80509 жыл бұрын
Lol I am sorry but Cotto hasnt been a top fighter since 07-08 (Margaritos loaded gloves and pacman ruined him). Granted Cotto looks better under Freddie Roach but "ko'ed Martinez into retirement!!!!???", DID YOU SEE MARTINEZ IN THAT FIGHT !!! Go and watch Martinez in any of his previous fights then watch the martin murray fight before his surgery where you could see Martinez's knees beginning to give up on him and plus most commentators said murray won that fight but it was in Argentina so..... Then watch Martinez vs Cotto, and tell me that Martinez in that fight looked like he was even in the top 30 middleweights, he looked like an old man on crutches the whole fight, couldnt throw a punch or pivot or move - which is what martinez whole career was based off. He even fell flat on his face at one point trying to throw a punch because he knees just gave way. Martinez would have been schooled by any top 10-15 middleweight that night. Sorry but put Cotto in there with a real top middleweight in his prime aka Golovkin and see what happens but I dont want miguel to die in the ring, because he is a a nice guy, but the hype around him is so over-rated. I dont think you understand how serious knee surgery is, my friend at university was top player in football, volleyball, mma, and cricket. He then had knee surgery and years later he just cant reach the same level in any of his sports - except for cricket, it RUINS people athletically, then imagine having it on both knees !!!!!. As for Trout ?? Obscurity ? because he lost marginally,scorecards were bit favourable, to Canelo and lost to Lara. Lara and Canelo are the best two light middleweights in the world (outside of Mayweather - who would never fight Lara because of his style) Trout has won his last two fights and will be competing for a belt soon (if anyone wants to fight him). But I hate to say it.....Cotto is an incredibly over-rated boxer.

Louis Davies Yeah Cotto is not new and improved. I mean Martinez was falling on his own. Cotto has just been having good luck or something because that dude wontn hang anymore with guys like Trout, Lara or Canelo, much less GGG. He priced himself out of the Canelo fight

I hate to see the pain and hurt that Cotto feels right here; but, I love seeing someone as humble and deserving as Trout shine. His family couldn't even get wristbands for the conference. Fighting is working your whole life to have a short (some shorter than others) rise from oppression and poverty. Props to both men. God bless them and their families.

This was an incredibly good fight! Two warriors going at it,with all they had. The best and most effective man won. But Cotto's effort did not go unnoticed. When two men stand directly in front of each other and exchange vicious blows,someone is bound to get knocked out,or get out punched. It could have gone either way,and it went in favor of Trout. I genuinely respect both fighters.
