don't just tell yourself your going to practice 1-3 hours a day, if you really want to learn this song I promise you will be motivated to nail it, learning shouldn't be looked at like work or a burden because you could be doing something else, and even if your a beginner anything is possible with enough practice! (you have to start somewhere)

A quick tip: If you are using an acoustic and the barre chords on higher frets are becoming an issue, just use the voicings; like we know how to play A major in standard, play the same but this time, index finger spanning over the 2nd fret and so on.

I believe the first set of 5 bends on the 14th fret, second string should be a set of 4 bends (and maybe a pause?) instead. Listen to the original song and let me know what you think. I apologise if my terminology is false as I am a total noobie. Great tutorial btw. It's very useful that you played the whole thing slowly in the end.

I think that should always be covered in a lesson especially if you are going to go into enough depth that the guitar is tuned down a step, you should touch on what pedals or amp adjustments could be used to get close to the sound of the song. No it does not have to be exact but something would be nice. Great lesson though, you are one of the best on KZbin as far as I am concerned.

Because im going to play for some teachers at a Highs School of Music, I'm Swedish, and I really need to learn this song so I can get in, because if this song doesn't impress the teachers, nothing does! So do you think I can learn it? I've played guitar before, but then I quited and now I started again, I'm like a beginner, I know shredding and tapping very well, but do you think a "beginner" can learn it?

AndréA Klass The truth is practice makes perfect. Hendrix took his guitar everywhere with him, And always had it in hand. It's the same reason why bruce Lee was so good at martial arts. Bruce Lee would practice/train non stop. Even while watching t.v he would shadow box, Or do push ups. I feel like it's insulting to say they are just talented. Because majority of people who knew or lived with Hendrix (like ronnie wood) Say he practically slept with his guitar. So in other words.... Practice, Practice, Practice.

You've probably learnt how to barre by now, but try rolling whatever finger you're using to barre a little, and make sure the finger is close to the fret line. Also, make your hand kind of like a clip, with your thumb flat on the back of the neck.

something I havent seen suggested, and something most people forget........the guitar factor. some lower to mid guitars can be a real bitch to do barre chords, even for an intermediate. Has your guitar been properly set up ? is the action the best it can be ? If you have already tried and practiced, it may be the actual instrument holding you back, granted I dont know your level, but something to look at
