For me, this goal is one of the best ever for its difficulty (a perfect strike to a ball falling from very high, and with Zizou's less able leg), its beauty (a curved volley to the angle from almost outside the box), and its relevance (it was the winning goal of the Champions League Final). Zidane is a fantastic player. Won everything in his career. World cup in 1998, Euro's in 2000, champions league in 2002, seria A in 97 and 98, la liga in 2003. Ballon d'or 1998. My man only has W's in his pocket. What's more impressive is that whenever there is a final he always scored some banger goals.

@@swagbaba69 How can you say that? What was so special about the cross? It's actually a 'blessing in disguise': a cross ball that spends so much time in the air isn't (most of the time) a good cross. Defenders can anticipate easier to such balls - in this case Zidane was granted way too much space. There was nothing extraordinary about that pass. You know what was more amazing? That subtle pass by Solari to Roberto Carlos: the weight of that ball and the courage to play it despite that Leverkusen player tracking Roberto Carlos. People are out of their mind.

Zidane saw this goal the second it left Carlos' boot, he swivels slightly while the ball spirals high into the air, he's never thinking of a pass or a lay off or controlling to play in someone else, he's thinking, "this is going in the top corner". It seems to take an eternity to drop but when it does the technique is flawless, with his wrong foot. I can't hold a pen with my weaker hand never mind write a classic. Complete mastery of his skills and the ability to drive those around him to higher levels. Proper player.

I’m a Barcelona fan since age 6, but this Zidane goal is different. We watched it together, a big group of friends. The whole thing was like a dream. as if all the time the ball was up in the air we all (15 of us) held our breaths, praying inside something crazy will happen and someone take this ball in somehow, but knew it was one to a million. And when Zidane nailed it to an artistic perfection, a wave of emotion naturally erupted and we were as excited as we ever were, of any goal ever scored. Literally crying of joy to have witnessed something like that in such a status. Feeling that we have just witnessed a true Genius of the highest order at his peak.
