3ds has bad controls, the switch idea is so good steamdeck followed that design & they've made a lot of $ on it. Switch 2 should be pretty much the same as switch but better graphics, more memory etc. Go forward not backwards

I'm still so, so sad about Pocket Camp. I started playing a month after it launched and have around 600 screenshots of my game play and cool updates. I will miss my friends, I will miss events, I will miss visiting other's campsites, and I will miss the updates. I do think the events being every month really stressed and worked the team hard, but I'm thankful they put in so much effort over the last 7 years.

The New Leaf access requires you to have a homebrewed system. If you don't, you won't have access to online features. I think that's something that should be mentioned, since there are some of us who will not do that to our systems, so it's not available to everyone.

It's by Pretendo, not Nintendo, so it's not official. I thought anything not official would need some kind of mods done? It's fair tho, not everyone has heard of Pretendo so it would've been better if it was more obvious that it would require mods. (I will say I don't know Nintendo's stance on talking about mods on KZbin so I don't know how much can actually be said if you want to stay in decent standing with Nintendo)

New Leaf HD could definitely work on the Switch. Nintendo just needs to lift everything from the 3DS original like they did for Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, and upgrade some of the models of the characters and areas to be in line with New Horizons, while still keeping that old 2012 feel. It’s one of Nintendo’s best Animal Crossing games next to the GameCube original and Wild World. If they actually went through with this, a lot of fans would be happy for sure, and there should be a feature for those who still have their 3DS to be able to transfer their old data to the Switch through a special Download Play-to-Internet connecitvity. I was going to say if Nintendo released an app for it on the 3DS, but…the eShop closed down, so that can’t work.

I can't wait to get more details about the new Pocket Camp game...I'm hoping that ALL of the items will be available in the new game, including all the past events, fortune cookies, and landscaping pieces! And the special character pieces...I just added Celeste to my Fall campsite! If the dual screen rumors are true, it would be a bit of a challenge for me...I do a lot of gaming while watching TV with my family, so...yeah...time will tell!

From my memory, the Wii U didn't go that well, so I'm not sure they'd have a second go at it? It would make it a bit hard to be as portable as the switch is now if they make games rely on having 2 screens. They could splitscreen I spose, hmm. I'd love if it was just more powerful and we can still use the switch games and joycons, got quite the collection over the years :) And even maybe being able to port our acnh saves to the new console? xD Prob asking too much there, but a new ac game sooner rather than later would be a lovely surprise! (Christmas, here's hoping haha? :D)

im with you, i just want a more powerful (and more aesthetically pleasing) console as the new one. what i *do* like about the wii and wii u is that the UI had so much character!! the wii u game pad is so bulky, i really like only needing to use one screen. i'll be a little upset if they make every game dual screen again lol

yeah, that part does suck so much. lots of microtransactional games shutting down lately in general, too. i guess the risk of spending money on these things is that it isnt permanent :( im with you on thinking that its odd that theyre still trying to sell stuff, i immediately noticed that too. you'd think they'd stop trying to sell things shortly after the announcement of closure but apparently not 😭 atleast you'll get to keep everything in the one time payment version? heres hoping!!

One thing I want in the next animal crossing game...well multiple things Give the villagers a lot more personality and make them more relatable Make the arcade cabinets and other stuff like tea cup rides and marry go rounds actually useable Maybe give us the option to play as another species other than human Revamp the clothes cause yes Maybe add friendship levels with the villagers of like someone, to bud, to friend, to best bud, then to best friend and the hardest one to get best friend forever Maybe we can have like a whole land mass to customize? Like with biomes like tundras, forests, deserts and other things Some more outlandish things like maybe a witch or wizard villager that if you pay them enough they can change the weather for you like make it rain or make it snow, heck even make it meteor shower that night Let our villagers have little vacations and be able to call or face time them while they're gone

I remember when u used to upload pocket camp videos before acnh was a thing and i had multiple ACPC accounts back then. I stopped playing a year ago cus it was getting out of hand how much they wanted you to play so the offline version is something super exciting fot me cus I can't wait to use the items that have been launching these last months/years. Too bad i'll only be able to keep just one of the accounts since i had 20+ of them and I had unique characters with each but ill just get a bunch of wigs and layouts and pretend there are many characters in 1 single accounts haha *pocket*

Also, I asked the Pocket Camp support team if I could keep my Pocket Camp Club subscription even in the offline version if I transfer my save data, but they said I had to wait for more details in october.

I've been hoping the successor allows the console to act as a controller to allow DS, 3DS, and Wii U games to be played for a long time. Of course new games could make use of it too, but I hope they don't force it where it doesn't belong like they did sometimes with Wii U. Hopefully, like they do with motion controls now, they use it sparingly and only if it really benefits the game. Having a screen on your controller is a cool idea that they could make good use out of. Plus the Switch is actually lighter than the Wii U controller was. That thing was uncomfortable to use sometimes.

The rumors for the Switch successor make sense, because the Switch was designed to do everything the Wii U was SUPPOSED to be able to do. It's almost as if the Wii U was released prematurely, because they hadn't developed the technology yet, but now that they have a better grasp on what the Wii U was meant to be, we'll get a dream mashup system between the Wii U and the Switch. And it does only make sense that Nintendo Online would then make use of their back catalogue of DS and 3DS games. I'm so excited just thinking about the possibilities!!

Well it’s not much of a stretch since the original switch was docked and you could use the screen or play off the tv. We have the og hooked up and then came the lite which we all have now. “We” I should confirm are my family members. It would be nice to be able to play all games together on one console but wish they would stop with changing up the game cartridges when new systems are developed and we can’t play the old hard copies.

i am SO excited about pretendo planning on making acnl multiplayer work again. im really hoping there's a resurgence, as i wasn't able to get a 3ds when it was at its peak 💔 i had one for the last year of acnl's multiplayer, but i didn't really know how to unlock multiplayer on tortimer's island until it was fully shut down. so sad! but it will be okay once its back, cant wait!! i will absolutely be apart of it :D

The dual screen rumour I’ve heard wasn’t that the switch 2 will be a dual screen console, but will support a dual screen capability with a new pro controller that has a touch screen similar to the DS and 3DS built in. This way the switch 2 will still keep its portable capabilities.

so, if you already own a switch (cant be a switch lite, unfortunately), you can hook it up to a capture card! theyre pretty pricey but i think its absolutely worth it if you want to use your switch on a computer screen. its super simple to set up too! the capture card i own has a free downloadable software that allows your switch (or any gaming console's) screen to show. its just pretty pricey to get the card that lets it stream to your laptop itself :(

First of all, I apologize. This became a longer reply than I planned. If your laptop doesn't have an HDMI input port, connecting your switch to it is currently impossible. Like the other commenter mentioned, there another alternative, which is to use a capture card to connect your switch to your laptop, so don't panic. Despite their high price tag, they are well-worth it in the long run. Some people use capture cards to livestream their games, and others to broadcast to monitors that lack an HDMI input port. From what I can see, the second method is what you're aiming for. For that, you’ll need a capture card along with a streaming software such as OBS or Streamlabs. After a bit of research, I found the EVGA XR1 to be the most affordable capture card, offering the same quality as the highly sought-after Elgato capture cards. Take note of the version listed on this capture card. This step is very important as the Switch is only compatible with USB version 3.0. Make sure that the product you buy has the same USB format. As for setting up the capture card, there are several tutorials online that can help you get started. My approach to using an external monitor with my switch is to route an HDMI cable from the Switch dock into the HDMI port on the back of the monitor. For the past 3 years, this setup has been effective for me, maybe it could work for you as well. However, if you can’t purchase a capture card and aren’t in any position financially to get a monitor to plug in your switch and laptop to, you could consider going for a cheap, portable gaming monitor instead. As long as the resolution of the monitor and refresh rate matches the display and frame rate of the Switch when in docked mode, 1080p and 60hz, your gameplay should be smooth as butter. In order to find the best one, ensure to go through all the reviews and take note of any complaints. Look for reviews that mention the appearance of dead pixels, the screen going dark for random intervals, washed out colors on the monitor, and other annoying setbacks that prevent a truly hassle-free plug-and-play experience.
