I would say none are the best "by far" some people claim black flag is by far the greatest in the series but its not even in my top 3. different people enjoy different things so just play through all of them at your own pace and see what you enjoy!

If you don't end up playing AC 1 (I really hope you do play it) I strongly recommend watching a recap video on it before jumping into AC 2. You might be lost on what's going on if you don't have the context of the first game.

ezios trilogy (AC 2, AC Brotherhood and AC revelations) has the best story in the series, the first game is really good too in terms of story but its age definitely shows with the gameplay. AC 3 and AC 4 black flag have decent stories, the gameplay in 4 is iconic and considered some of the most fun. i recently played AC unity for the first time, the gameplay is different in a really cool way, the story wasnt my favorite but still okay.

Hi. Loved your reactions! Please Please do not skip Assassins Creed 1…no matter what people say about it being old. It’s still a good game and very very important for understanding the story and lore of the game. Edit: I now recall you saying you only have PS5 and Mac. Sucks that Ubisoft has not managed to release a new version for it’s very first original AC game for newer consoles. Hope you find a way or at least react to it’s playthrough/story. The Assasssin in the first game…no spoilers…is the greatest and most important Assassin in the history of the franchise despite having only one game. He’s mentioned repeatedly in the next games…hence people who don’t get the chance to play AC1 miss out on connecting with him. Anyways…looking forward to your AC reactions

Play the games starting from assassin’s creed 1. Assassin’s creed 2 is best played on a console, when you play it on a PC the controls appear as a hand a head a foot and something else so it’s difficult to figure out what key you need to press

AC was great, but it definitely set up one of the greatest trilogies in history, so if you are going to start with any AC game, definitely start with the ezio trilogy. AC2,brotherhood,revelations.

AC Odyssey is the only game I finished. I’ve played some of Black Flag, Brotherhood, Origins and Valhalla, but Odyssey is the only one to hold my attention enough to beat as well as replay several times. I love Greek mythology/history

These cinematic trailers do not accurately represent the games' graphics, especially the early ones. These are animated using higher-resolution assets, game consoles back then were not able to run graphics as high quality as these trailers.

The first Assassin's Creed game is very hard to find these days on semi-modern devices. But you can definitely find the games after that on modern devices and most people feel the spirit of the game can be felt just as well in Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood and Revelation (The Ezio Trilogy).

Ya, there's so many AC games... when i finally decided to restart everything for a timeline playlist... Started out Oct 2014 - Jul 2017 to reach AC: Syndicate Took a year break before finishing off the DLCs Took a longer break and finished AC: China at 2021 moving straight to Origins that took another year to finish... Did bit of Odyssey though i like it, i stop again, :D not sure when i'll pick up from there again or restart Odyssey because i got a new editor now.

Black Flag is by far the greatest game in the series at in my opinion and gave the greatest cliff hanger at the end. and no I don't count it being resolved in comics/novels as canon. BF easily had the best soundtrack as well. in my opinion its the most complete Creed game in the series. i cant say perfect as none of them are but its certainly the most complete.

“Odin? So who is he supposed to be? Thor?” I know you were kidding but I don’t know if you were just joking about Kratos or joking about the entire thing so here’s the rundown. Odin is a god. The Vikings worshipped the Norse gods. Odin, Thor, Loki, Freya, Freyr, Baldr, many others that I’m forgetting. These are all gods that were worshipped by a very real religion. If you in fact weren’t joking, I can’t really blame you because Christianity has slowly destroyed their entire religion throughout the centuries, not just through forced conversions and mass murders but by framing what was once a religion as machinations of Satan. That’s why paganism is now associated with Satanism. Paganism is actually any religion that worships more than one god. The Christians ended up claiming that the pagan gods were Satan in disguise and that by worshipping these gods, you’re being tricked into worshipping Satan. I’m not gonna pretend that they didn’t raid and pillage but there were plenty of ordinary people living amongst them that didn’t go raiding and absolutely didn’t deserve their religion stolen from them. That being said, raiding was completely legal and the people relied on raiders to bring them resources needed to live. It was considered a necessary evil but I just don’t like the complete erasure of someone’s faith.

I want to honestly say that I’m more of a fan of the RPG style games. Origins is part of the RPG three, but is definitely my favorite out of the newer ones. I’ve tried to play the older games and they just weren’t my thing, aside from black flag. That one was great. The RPG games have grinds in em, and everyone says they’re repetitive, but if you switch up how you play them, you can have a lot of fun with all the weapon combinations and assassinations. Like I was saying, Origins is probably my personal favorite, but I think the RPG games are all great. Origins had a very good stealth system, Odyssey was well balanced between both combat and stealth, and Valhalla had the strongest combat system. That being said, the story to all three is also really good, it just takes a minute to figure out how it all ties together, and to the story of the older games. Enjoy them, and take your time with em. That’s most important, I think.

The games are great fun, but what got me really hooked was the "Story behind the scenes". they kinda dropped the ball on that story in the later ones, ( Have not played past Odyssey yet, mental health problems got me and I have yet to get back to the games, nor have I found the time) for that reason I do suggest doing as you intend to start from the beginning. I wonder if it would be fun to look into the movie too, although it butchered a lot of the mechanics, they did pretty good visually. and it's technically in the canon.

@VW20-bq9in: Evie was the brains and stealth, whereas Jacob was the brawn. I am going to point out that they probably only showed Jacob, the same way the trailer for Valhalla shows a man, when the canon is Female because Ubisoft have sexist staff whom thought that female characters don't sell, hello Lara Croft and Jill Valentine come to mind on that one. Of course you can choose either, but the canon is female. Saxon and Viking women, very tough no one would have stood any chance if they joined any fight [ even today if a woman joins any affray, you are deep trouble ], and Saxon and Viking women had rights, property and land and Viking women fought alongside their men, I did prefer the voice for the male though. Platinum for Valhalla was easy, but its a huge grind to try and 100 %.

Wow cool , Plz dont miss AC1 , That story is connected with Ezio triology , it will essential for ezio final game AC revelations. , if you cant play ac1 then try Ac1 game play reaction , And 2 more requests that after finishing AC1 there is a small sequel game called Assassin's Creed - Bloodline its a psp game but its a psp game that imposible to play so react the cutscenes of that game like many gamers did. its the sequel story of AC1 it will explain what happened to the main character after AC1, its a good story and it will helpful for later games. And before starting AC2 there is a prequel Short live actiom movie called Assassin's Creed: Lineage , its made by ubisoft with same voice cast of AC2 game , it will explain the scenarios lead to AC2 game story..you will enjoy for sure.. So start with AC1 > Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines cut scenes > Assassin's Creed: Lineage short Film > AC2 (Ezio Triology) Happy Gaming..❤

if you have a pc with steam you can play ac 1 on that, that's what i did before playing the rest on PlayStation. If that's not possible then if you are able to settle for a recap of the story that's probably acceptable.

That is a lack of respect from Ubisoft because in Latin America we did not have Spanish from Spain, it is in Latin Spanish. It is very much like telling a British person that they are American English hehe 😅 What do you think Shar?

The best AC Games in my mind are ranked as follows: AC 2. The introduction of Ezio. One of the best stories, best character, best real history supporting characters (you will have to meet them yourself) and such a beautiful landscape of Italy. Florence, Venice, and many others. Outstanding additional expansion content too... Worst bits? The graphic facial features look dated now. AC Brotherhood. Ezio's voyage into Rome, which just beats AC2 for location. Still the same real life characters, great story, but not as good a story as AC2. Worst bits? It's the shortest of all the main AC title releases. the Add ons are poor. AC 4 Black Flag. Just wow!! Great characters (real world pirates), beautiful world (the carribbean) emotional story telling, and the most fun to play out and complete to 100%. Worst bits.... They is no Black Flag 2!!! WHY???? AC Revelations. Just slightly pips AC 1 the original. Ezio's 3rd outing and a great ending to his story in Istanbul and Masyaf. The ending with Altair is pretty amazing. Worst bits? The compound defence section is irritating. AC 1 The Original. An amazing introduction and story telling, if a little dated now. Altair isn't the most sympathetic lead character, but you warm to him. Could do with a remake/ remaster of the middle east during the crusades. Just unfortunate that it has to complete with games which superseded it. Worst bits? It's old bless it. AC Odyssey. This gets a bad rap, but I place it higher than others, I loved the main character as female, loved the locations, and the massive expanse of gameplay make it just a dream to get through the islands of ancient Greece. Just a massive experience. Not everyone's cuppa tea though, and many don't consider it a proper AC game. Worst bits? Depends on who you talk to. Some love it, some hate it. Adding Atlantis was a bit daft for the DLC. AC Unity... Controversial, but now they;'ve ironed out the bugs and you can play it on PS Plus, it's now become a fun playthrough. the city of Paris during the French Revolution is amazing, making it the first time that an Assassin's location feels like a highly populated and busy metropolis. Worst bits.. Buggy as hell on launch. Elise looks like a mid teenager, which is creepy. Probably the most liberties (lol get it?) taken with real history other than Valhalla. AC Syndicate. While the location of my own capital city should have made me more excited to play. Syndicate feels a little depressing and bleak. Which is accurate because late 19th century London was depressing and bleak (and still is). But once you've climbed all the historical buildings and read seen the famous bits, it becomes a little tired and I never finished. Worst bits. the twins are annoying. The accents are annoying. The Jack the Ripper add on was dumb as hell. AC Valhalla. Should have been better, Viking Era England, what a dropped ball. Bugs stopped me from completing the story. And the location of Asgard was a little silly. Worst bits? They still haven't fixed the Hampshire ending BUG!!! And Asgard (really... you had to add that after the criticism of Odyssey?) AC Origins. Just like Syndicate, once you've seen the sights and done the travelling, it's boring and repetitive. Stunning visuals of Pre Roman conquest Egypt though. Gorgeous game to wander through. Worst bits? Boring and a lot of dead open space between areas. AC 3 Boring protagonist, didn't warm to him at all he had absolutely no charisma. Terribly fighting mechanics, and it made revolution era America seem dull and lifeless. The most disappointing game in what should have been one of the greatest of eras. The game is the worst bits. I haven't added the add on series games... Freedom Cry, Rogue or Liberation (or the Chronicles, which are more short stories) as they are more expansions / offshoots to the original game franchise. But all three are worth your time. Cannot rate Mirage or the new Japanese one yet as I haven't played either of them.

Shadows has a lot of… Problems… surrounding it. I’m sure it’ll be a perfectly functional and fun game to play, but there may be a lot of problems with its release. And These trailers Skipped assassin‘s Creed odyssey that came between origins and Valhalla. Not sure why.
