@chubeo2 ай бұрын
Please note that the two fishermen are actually uncredited cameos by Keiichi Tsuchiya and Kazutoshi Wadakura. Mr. Keiichi is the real-life drift king credited with introducing drift to the world and was the inspiration and consultant for Initial D. He also stunt coordinated and was a stuntsman for Tokyo Drift. The 86 Corolla mentioned by Han is actually driven by Mr. Keiichi and was the main car in Initial D. And Mr. Sonny Chiba is live action One Piece’s Zoro’s father in real life 😊
@LordVolkov2 ай бұрын
There's a lot of great cameos in Tokyo Drift.
@terrorazeing2 ай бұрын
*Correction:* Keiichi Tsuchiya personally owns a 3-door Sprinter Trueno hatchback variant (GT-APEX model) of the Toyota AE86 _(the one with pop-up headlights),_ not a Corolla Levin that was mentioned by Han in the movie. The same hatchback Trueno variant is also what Takumi Fujiwara uses in the Initial D anime/manga series. And I assume that same car is the one that made a special appearance in this scene 👉 23:43 but since the headlights weren't shown if they were pop-up ones or fixed ones, then I'm not completely sure if it's an 86 Trueno or an 86 Levin.

Haha guys, its funny watching this one back with you guys, as its one of my favs of the franchise, but now watching it back with you guys and seeing and hearing both of your perspectives it really highlights all the weakness's I may have felt when it first came out as it wasn't my fav originally in part because of the cast change, but you guys point out so many details not related to what I'm experiencing as I'm a car guy especially JDMs since that's what I grew up with, rally, off road and racing is in my blood and JDMs were our culture and I happen to love Japanese culture. Llove hearing that from both of you too again esp since Kristen spent time there. Also I wanna hear more about Kristen's truck, that has got me intrigued! We know Jabby has a Type R which is sick, love the latest model. Maybe you guys should do an in house FnF segment and have everyone introduce and show there cars, even the Prius 🤣I'd love to see that, maybe mods you'd do if you could would, doesn't have to be long, but be kinda cool. I have always believed animals and cars and friends tell allot about people (family ya can't choose) but those 3 say allot about a person! Anyways sick watching this with you guys, di you guys skip 3? Others may have said, but the timeline for FnF is not as it shows per when they were released, it can mess with ya head, but it makes sense in the end. I have ended up watching everything after 7, the Rock sorta killed it for me a bit TBH, really they went mainstream instead of following car culture. Craig Lieberman was the main OG car technical advisor, if interested he actually gives allot of detail about the cars and sometimes the actors as well, as usual they don't often follow the experts knowledge as Hollywood execs are wanting to suck in the non car people with shiny objects, but history has still prevailed with the genre, probably more down to the characters than the story lines and the cars (later unfortunately) 8,9,10 especially 10 is off off course just struggle with it, but then its not my gen, still eventually watched these. Anyways keep on the journey, highly recommend if ya haven't check out the short version edit for "2 Fast 2 Furious Turbo Charged Prelude" Search that in KZbin, its sick. Cheers awesome team, you rock ❣🤘

i loved tokyo drift, it's my favorite out of all the Fast movies. lucas black is a decent actor but i feel like he was miscast in this movie, the man definitely didn't look like a high schooler as they were attempting to portray that haha. the change i would have made would be to actually have a japanese american kid in his place that ended up having to go back to japan to maybe stay with his grandparents or whatever - i was in high school when this movie came out and cars were definitely a huge thing in the asian community all over the US and i feel like it would have greatly benefit from having that perspective tied into someone going back to their home country and discover a huge piece of their culture in that way. i also feel like the "gaijin" term would have a great impact on an american-japanese kid in a deeper sense because that also truly exist in real life feeling like an outsider/foreigner who is not truly japanese born trying to fit in. there are many asian american kids out there who have kind of lost a connection with their roots because either they didn't grow up learning their parent's native tongue because parents wanted them to assimilate as a americans or some asian american kids have sometimes developed an internal racism towards themselves and refused to learn. but yeah, that's what i have always thought as a kid, but have always loved this movie! thanks for the reaction!

The key thing to remember with the Fast & Furious franchise is you have to just turn off your brain and enjoy the ride...there's so much stuff wrong in them, from plot holes to basic physics to car culture misrepresentation (car meets do NOT look anything like they show) to different things with the cars themselves (especially in the early entries in the franchise), that you'll get zero entertainment if you apply any level of critical thinking to them. But if you can turn your brain off and watch them as the mindless popcorn flicks that they are, they can be pretty enjoyable.

8/10 Really good film. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is the least popular of the Fast and Furious franchise but it's also the most underrated. While I thought the country accent was a little overblown and some of the cgi looked a little too obvious, the movie was really good. The plot is fresh and exciting, the acting is spot on, and the cars are great. That's honestly one of my only gripes with 2 Fast 2 Furious is that, while really entertaining, it got away from the car element quite a bit. This movie brought back the cool car factor that made the first film so special. Overall, while it wasn't as good as the first two, it was still a great movie in its own right and one that can stand alone without the others.

33:16 the legendary rb26det inline six engine. Originally factory in the skyline, the Silvia it was in before they put it in the mustang is originally an sr20 twin cam four cylinder, so this engine went through two car swaps. It's an amazing hard working unit this engine, you can bash it on the limiter and it'll still want more 💯 It's loved by car nerds all over the world, me included 🥰 and honestly Steph is a great reactor idk why y'all give her so much hate lay off

29:04 i dunno if somebody already mentioned this but this scene wasn't permitted by the authorities and they needed to hire someone to take the blame instead of the actual director so they could finish the movie.

And they really want you to believe Jason Statham killed Han lol.. Looking at the scene in this movie there's no way in hell he could have pulled that off and snuck away lol.. I mean Shaun was literally 20ft away from the explosion..

I was wondering when or even if you two were gonna continue with this franchise. I'm glad to see you're still doing it. I hope the timeframe between each reaction is much shorter from here on out, though.

What’s the point of Steph? That was a lot of complains and no actual input. This is literally a movie to show car skills, not an Agatha Christie thriller. Chill or don’t watch those. It’s not that serious

29:10 I love that shot. On the dvd behind the scenes features, they show how they did that shot. The cameraman was on roller blades.

Did you guys know that Kristen used to live in Japan? If not, dont worry about it, she will keep reminding you, take a shot every time and you have deadly alcohol poisoning guaranteed drinking game.

46:43 'Tokyo Drift' is one of those sequels that wasn't well received when it initially came out. But TBS and TNT constantly airing it in the late 2000's and early 2010's is what made this a minor fan favorite with 'The Fast And The Furious' fans. Plus also how this movie plays into later sequels is another reason.
