The bomb Geralt throws is "Moon Dust", a bomb which contains silver shards that makes invisible creatures visible and stops creatures which can alter themselves from doing so. It works very well on vampires. The potion he drinks is Black Blood, a potion which makes a Witcher's blood poisonous to vampires. The golden sphere that he casts is Quen, a protective shield sign, one of the five Witcher signs. He also uses Aard, which you recognized in the Killing Monsters trailer.

6:40 - No, that's not Dandelion. He's a bard, not a witcher. :) Witcher 3 shows you other witchers from the same school as Geralt. I could tell you who this one is, but I'm sure you'll read all the biographies anyway. :) 15:28 - The song she sings is called Lullaby of Woe. It's a song that's sung by sentient monsters to their children to warn them of witchers. It's an excellent trailer showing how he uses the right potions and tools for the job (Quen is usually yellow in this game). Here he's fighting a type of vampire known as a bruxa. Excited for your Witcher 3 playthrough!

The second trailer shows several active Witchers still opperating in Witcher 3. The older man is Vesemir, the oldest and most experienced... a mentor and trainer to the others. The one in the red jacket that you thought was Dandelion is actually Eskel, a scar faced Witcher who is pretty much a contemporary of Geralt, having been trained at the same time. The one in black with the beard is the last trained Witcher of the School of the Wolf, Lambert. He is rather bitter about his entire situation and definitely did not want to be a Witcher...but he is a very good one. These three along with Geralt are the last survivors of the School of the Wolf. In Witcher 2 you met Letho, a Witcher of the School of the Viper. He can appear in Witcher 3. If you played Witcher 2 you may have killed him or let him go. At the beginning of Witcher 3 there is a moment where you can establish that you killed him or not in Witcher 2. If you say you killed him, he will not appear. If you say you let him go, he can appear and play a small but significant role in Witcher 3. After the update you mentioned, another side quest appears where you meet Gaetan, one of the only survivors of the School of the Cat. Later in Witcher 3 you meet another former Witcher from the School of the Cat in a side quest. How you play that out has little real impact on the game.

Indeed, that potion affected that bruxa. Potion is called Black Blood, turns witcher's blood into acid. Not a tasty treat the vampire expects. Also good use of Moon Dust grenade to bring invisible targets out, good ol' Quen, Aard. Great video. All of them are.

It's a tremendous game years later and it continues to impress. context for a witcher to defeat that type of monsters was very difficult, if not impossible. Geralt knew he couldn't win. Before entering he poisoned his blood because he knew that the vampire was going to bite him. Geralt, in addition to being an outstanding witcher, was very intelligent and had a lot of knowledge about monsters and their weaknesses. and the tremendously interesting thing about the game is that trailer that came out years before the expansion, it is the end of a secondary mission of the last expansion of whitcher 3 where geralt meets this woman and realizes that she is a vampire and promises that he will come back for her at some point and this is what happens in this trailer, Geralt coming back for the vampire. cute plostwist. The woman herself was a countess who had an orphanage and bit the children but did not kill them. Geralt finds her biting one of the children and wants to attack her but the boy defends her and Geralt promises to return one day to kill her despite that it wasn't necessarily a "BAD-BAD" monster. The scene ends with her singing the song to the boy that begins this trailer. That's why she tells him "I thought you had forgotten."

I remember reading the books when I was younger- LOVVVVED them, then got myself the Wicher 1 game when it came out on the disc when I went back to my homeland Poland, then Wicher 2, them....well...I'm replaying the Wicher 3 for the 5th time right now and no doubt I will come back to all of them again and again. Also the music especially in Witcher 1 and 3 is just fantastic imo. Enjoy! 🤩

You can choose hairstyles in the game, and also the hair grows back. At least I know the beard does. I remember giving Geralt a clean shaven a few times and the beard slowly growing back over the course of a few in-game days.

Credit to CDPR for Night to Remember trailer. [No spoilers] You do meet the vampire from the "Night to Remember" trailer in the game - obviously earlier than in the trailer since she died in the trailer. So they showed the end of her arc before the start and expected you to remember her, her nature and even how to fight her kind in what could be, in gameplay terms, a lifetime ago. They even got the same voice actor for the trailer as the character, so if you do remember the trailer you'll know her as soon as you hear her again.

The first game is 5 years after the books. Then each game has a few months between them, so TW3 is probably around 6 years after the books

this girl is about to get blown away by the GOTY of 2015, happy gameplaying !! I’m not sure if you’re into mods and such, but there’s one for W3 I recommend on every channel that playthroughs it: “Gervant First Person” mod, it allows to switch (on and off) to the pov of Gerald eyes and it completely changes the look of the game, it’s useful for looking around and having a closer look at stuff, it also works surprisingly well during combat, expect me to nag you on each episode that you install it, because it’s just that good and non invasive mod lol 😅

TW2 used to have bad problems with crashes when you had lots of saves. I once removed most of my saves through a lot of clicking IG to delete them from Steam Cloud, too (after making a backup, of course) and that solved all my crashes. Especially if you have a very much increasing number of crashes the more you progress the game, there's a good chance that the issue.

The KZbin algorithm recommended this video at the perfect time, right as you're to start Witcher 3. Sometimes it works! I believe The Sword of Destiny trailer used the in-game assets in a custom engine (not the normal game engine) which allowed them to do things and use effects not possible in the game. Some of it is completely pre-rendered separately too. A few things changed between the trailer and the game as well, but it's generally representative. Regarding crashes and game issues -- if you bought the game on GOG you can play the "classic" version if the next-gen version doesn't run well, not sure if it's included on Steam. Unfortunately the save games don't carry back from new to old versions so you'd want to make the change early if needed. The older version runs better and still looks good but lacks certain graphics features and small quality of life changes. Good luck on the path!

When you start playing, collect all the Gwent cards, even if it seems hard. Reason for this is that once you leave certain areas, you won't be able to get them. At least that's my experience. Also, it's highly addictive, to the point that they have made a specific Gwent card game :D

PetStenbakc, they actually made a fix and you can get all the cards even if you miss them. For example one card can be found in the chest of the room where an npc lives (even if the npc leaves that area). So no pressure fopr you sienna, I would say oen thign though: buy "duplicates" of gwent cards even if it says "you already have this card", trust me.

4:37 - Yeah they've fixed and improved some things a little bit, but you know what people praised the most recently? It was the release of something called "REDkit for Witcher 3" - it's a tool for modding the game which makes modding (and applying the mods) a much easier task, people now can create new maps, new quests and many other things like it was nothing. 6:41 - Nope, it was Eskel - another witcher from Witcher school of Kaer Morhen oh and right before that there was another one jumping on Bies and that one is Lambert 9:37 - Yeah I believe most if not all of the trailers of Witcher 3 have few bits pre-rendered... 10:17 - That is Vesemir - oldest and most experienced witcher at Kaer Morhen, acted as a father figure to Geralt of Rivia and the other witchers. Fun fact in Witcher 3 there will be at least one time where you will be playing as different character. 10:37 - They do not introduce new species on purpose - game is based on the book and both are based on slavic mythology and legends so they don't want to disturb that whole lore 10:42 - again Eskel ^^ 14:19 - yep, that is Dandelion 15:04 - that was Yennefer's spell that cast this crow 18:19 - exactly it is called Black Blood potion that makes the Witcher's blood toxic to Vampires and Necrophages. That one from trailer is bruxa. it is a very powerful type of vampire that takes on the appearance of a dark-haired, young human, most often female, but whose natural form is that of a large, black bat with sharp fangs and claws.

Black blood most certainly won't work on Wraiths - why should it? Wraiths are just angry ghosts, they both envy the living and brim with overwhelming hatred for them. They do not eat flesh and do not drink blood so It won't affect them.

Did you forget about the wraith with multipl phases, where they sudently make muiltipple clones that absorb blood from geralt? and you must hit them fast (they are 1 hp foes) before they restore the wraith health? I am 90% certain the potion prevent the health recovoery of those wraiths. THere is level 10-11 contract with a wraith we will see enough (i dont rememebr the quest name, it must be something like "the white something")

@@albert-i2d4r I remember the clones with low hp/level , but i do not remember blood absorbing, maybe it was done on some distance and i assumed they are taking life force and not blood.. im not sure, but anyways I would consider black blood a poison and i don't know how poison could affect ghosts but hey we both could play again and check it how it is working in the game itself

Your saves from Witcher 2 can be used in the continuation into W3. I have been a fan since the books and announcement of the W1, my desktop wallpaper is still a promo concept artwork of the city sewers :D No fanBoi here :P When I first seen these trailers, it reminded my what life was like the night before christmas as a boy. Was not disappointed! Especially when the line between in game cinematic and prerendered scenes are seen, hold my beer....

The consequences in W3 are far more diverse, numerous and effective. There are literally choices you make near the start of the game that go on to have incredibly profound affect on late game actions. And it's this way throughout the entire game.

Regarding the spear with two edges.. Witcher 3 have many elements of choises that alters the ending of the game.. don't remember exactly how many endings there were but you are correct with it being like Red Dead... things can end good and things can go bad. I were so glad when I got my ending and had a friend that also played it at the same period I did and we ended it on basically the same day. When we spoke and I said that I loved the ending he looked at me and sait "How can you say that?!" ...turns out that I had the best ending and he had the worst... :D ..but I think there are some middle endings as well. Also, if you start playing you should really dip your toes into the DLC's.. they are almost like two $50 worth of stand-alone games by their own. The release dates change during the trailers because CD Project Red were really open with telling the fans that they didn't want to release the game with as many bugs there still were in it and added time to it. Sadly many still had crashes when it came out -but they did their best. I didn't have any large ones beside fps drops in one area. But they were open with it instead of dropping it on a set date though it wasn't done (Like EA).

I think the ending of Whitcher 3 hits harder between the good and bad ending because I thought more about "oh I should have done that" in my second playthrough when all went to heck due to my choises. :P

10:45 No it is not. This is another witcher, one who trained with Geralt as a child and became a Witcher at the same time as Geralt. The Wolf medallion should already given away that this cannot be Dandelion but has to be a Wicther from the School of the Wolf (not to mention that Dandelion would never be able to fight like that).

I watched you play RDR2, it's nice to see you trying new games. I just like to say that the Witcher3 is probably one of the best games ever made and one of the best stories ever made so I hope you enjoy yourself but be prepared...it takes a bit to getting used to, but once you get used to it, you'll be fine! The Witcher 3 is not a Hack & Slash game. It takes skill and preparation.

The Witcher 1 was a pretty average game at the time it was released, but that's no surprise since when CD Projekt RED started working on The Witcher 1, they didn't have a programmer or a game engine. 😉
