Played this deck in my pod. Everyone agreed that Ezio adds another constant variable to the game. They dont want to be too close to 40 life because then they are a target, and they dont want to be close to 13 life or lower, due to Ezio's assassination. Its fun for sure

I built but not yet tested this deck. I didn’t get all the ACR cards, but I got the ones I felt would work best. I also went with Gates as a mana base and the usual suspects with land tutors and such. Wasn’t going to build it but pulling Ezio and Cover of Darkness pretty much told me this was the way. -Didn’t include Edward Kenway because I didn’t lean heavy into Pirates, although I think many Admiral Beckett Brass players may trade up to Edward -Didn’t include Connor because I couldn’t get him, and honestly my deck doesn’t lean heavy into equipment. -Just gonna say for everyone looking at this deck wanting to build it, if you like Ezio Blade of Vengeance, Achilles Davenport, and Rooftop Bypass, all of them are included in the Starter deck along with many ACR cards you would want in the deck too and if you get them from LGS, typically you can find them for $20 which will save you 8-12 bucks if you were to merely buy the singles.

Edward Kenway spiked hard in price so that’s probably more of a reason than that given if you didn’t buy early/on a lower budget. But Edward makes treasures for each tapped assassin which is the main point, so don’t even have to put in any other pirates.

Thank you for this. I’ve got most of the cards here except for sword and Edward but that can be swapped out for tree of perdition or Ramses assassin lord. I love this set so much as a fan and it’s a nice gimmick to just have fun with

I, too, do not like shapeshifters! Flavor is the way! I dig these kind of decks and I favor them over more fine tuned decks even if I have the cards in my possession to do it. Please do more of these!

I built this deck with nothing but legendary assassins and a few outside cards that heavily skew the game in my favor trading Basim for Master Assassin Basim (Secret Lair release of Ramses, Assassin Lord) for another sneaky wincon that the table needs to look out for. I ended up taking out Excalibur and avoid detection, trading them for Whispersilk Cloak for Ezio since he’s a constant target, and the conquerors Flail to help with managing counterspells on my turn. So far, my friends hate it, they know how to generally handle it, but since it’s not a turn key deck and can get the other assassins on the board incredibly quickly, it’s a force to reckoned with.

Great video! I did something similar with LotR making a Sauron deck and a fellowship Aragorn deck. (Speaking of flavor… whenever someone put Gandalf in a Sauron deck it makes me cry on the inside 😂) I love AC, so I’ve been waiting for this set since it was announced. I went more with including commander staples. One noticeable difference with mine is I did include a couple cards from outlaws of thunder junction. Vraska joins up is great as so many of our creatures have it can have first strike, so giving them death touch is perfect and also more card draw. Also includes back in town to instantly reload after a board wipe. I also included a couple more one sided board wipes- cyc rift, kindred dominance, ruinous ultimatum along with desync should work out great in our favor. I agree that haste is sorely missing on a lot of the creatures so I also included rhythm of the wild.

Add Morophon the Boundless to reduce the cost of your assassins to one black mana with Ezio’s ability if you successfully deal damage to your opponents with Ezio or another Assassin.

Whenever there is a UB release, I keep everything in world for my commander decks. LOTR decks only have any of the LOTR cards while 40K, Fallout and Dr.Who decks stayed pure. Same went for AC, but also used cards from the AC Secret Lairs. My only slight disappointment is exactly what you said at the start that the set didn’t include many mana fixing,ramp spells, or mana rocks.

Exactly! I can't bring myself to seperate any of my Dr Who decks. It's definitely going to be harder to build purely ACR decks but there's a lot of fun commanders in here!

if you want a fast insta-win combo, i suggest adding Ramses. Assassin Lord. have both him and ezio on the field, swing ezio at an opponent who will have 10 or less life after combat damage, activate his wubrg ability to insta-kill them, thus triggering Ramses's ability for cheap easy win.

You can add tree of perdition to give a player 13 health, only need 3 damage to trigger ezio then ramses as well

Building 2 different decks. One is an Etrata led assassin tribal deck. The other is a mono black "5 color" Ezio led deck that will use Roshan and Maskwood Nexus to make everything an assassin and play big nasty creatures for BB

First of all, I agree with you I think they put away too many sets in one year I remember they used to only have like three sets maybe a command box or something like that but now it’s crazy. I like the variety and all that stuff but come on People want to get extras of something so that way in the future we can make multiple decks. we can also use multiple formats but no they want every two months a new set and then we’re going to completely skip the sets. It’s like they want us to get at least two boxes every set.

Great video! I do count the ACR secret lair cards as ACR "themed" cards. Not sure if you had any suggestions or a new moxfeild link using both SLD cards?
