The Haka is an ancient Maori dance that has become an iconic and distinctive part of New Zealand culture and, in particular, rugby. In selection matches, the All Blacks perform the Haka as a powerful show of respect, strength and unity before facing their opponents on the field. The goal, to intimidate the opposition and convey the spirit and passion of the players.
The "Kapa or Pango" is a modern variant of the traditional Haka performed by the All Blacks on special occasions. It was introduced in 2005 and has become a prominent part of pre-match ceremonies. The choreography and words of the "Kapa o Pango" are designed to represent Maori identity and pride, as well as the players' connection to the land and nature of New Zealand.
But not everyone can lead this ritual, and it is precisely here, where we will stop to enjoy the three best haka leaders.
