I mean, who'd believe Arthur if he told him "yes I am"? Plus, he'd have to be a particularly monstrous individual to go to so much trouble to cover up any affair with Penny Fleck and lead to her life being so utterly ruined. From what we see, he's a jerk but he's not a monster. Penny was also repeatedly shown as delusional, neglectful to her son's suffering and the abuse he faced. Here’s a fun fact you should know - In the 1989 Batman, Tim Burton briefly considered in casting Adam West as Thomas Wayne before the role went to David Baxt as he thought Adam West was too old for the role (he was around 60 at the time). But still I think the 1989 Batman is still the best depiction of Batman’s parents Death/Origin on the big screen alongside ‘Joker’ 👍 I bet Bruce’s parents death really had a devastating and irreparable impact on him as a child and later in his adult life, that’s what really drove him to become Batman in the first place.

It's really interesting how in each version the motivation is completely different. In '89 Jack is a sadistic killer. In Begins Joe is just a normal guy who's down on his luck and needs the money but is terrified of what he might have to do. In BvS it's totally ambiguous thanks in large part to the lack of dialog. I like the Batman Begins Thomas Wayne best. Of all the Thomas Waynes who were victims of robbery (I'm excluding the Joker ones because that clown acted with the intent to kill, not just rob) he behaves the most rationally. He knows the loss of what little wealth the Waynes are carrying on them at the moment means nothing in comparison to his family members' lives, so he tries to keep the robber calm and gives him what he wants. He only provokes the robber because he suddenly moves to get between his wife and the gun, but he was only acting to protect his family as any man should. Now compare that to the dumbass Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman who stupidly takes a swing at someone who has him at gunpoint, or the one from Batman who tries to wrestle the robber for some jewels (granted he probably didn't know there was another gunman in the shadows, but still).

Thomas: Let's see, we're on the streets of Gotham City in the middle of the night with our adolescent son and for some reason, even though we're stinking rich and live in a manor miles away on the outskirts, we didn't take one of the cars or a driver. I'm sure we'll be fine to take this shortcut down Crime Alley, turn left through Bloody Homicide Court and across Murdertown. Martha, make sure your pearls are visible so the people know we're not criminals. Martha: Yes, dear. Can't help but think Bruce's parents were _rrreally_ stupid. 🤨

1989: Thomas tries to stop the mugger from taking Martha's necklace. Jack intentionally shoots him and Martha. Thomas was stupid, but Jack might've just shot him anyway because Jack's not a very nice man. 2005: Thomas remains calm, gives Chill his wallet, instinctively jumps in front of Martha when Chill points the gun at him. The first shooting seems accidental, second one is up in the air. Thomas handled this about as well as possible. 2016: Thomas LUNGES FOR THE GUN. And then after Chill shoots him, MARTHA GOES FOR THE GUN TOO? WHAT. Both shootings seem completely accidental, given Chill's reaction. Thomas and Martha are very, very, very stupid. 2019: Thomas doesn't do anything, Chill shoots them very much on purpose. Thomas was kind of a dick in this movie but at least he didn't go for the gun.

Yes I agree!! Both 2005 version and the 2019 version are more realistic and does makes sense throughout the Batman origin storyline. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
@SphinX5044 жыл бұрын
2016 Thomas Wayne wasn't afraid to try and fight the mugger off. 2016 Martha is the only one to try and stop the mugger too. What is she gonna do, sit there and wait to be shot next or worse, watch her son get killed?

I dont know if the one who shot his parents in 2019 was Joe Chill, anyway, it felt good when he killed them because they were dickheads.

Tashanté Yes, but the point is that the other versions won’t be realistic. These are comic book movies about a man dressed as a bat...
