What year truck? Model? What functions did old mirrors have? I just bought a tradesman and I think it only has power glass. Can’t find tow mirrors that only have that function without heat or power fold in.

They look awesome! When I bought my 15 the dealer had to take them off a 1500 they had on the lot because I required them for towing my camper. I asked why they would order a 2500 w/o them and a 1500 w/, didn't really get a answer. Also thanks for recommending Chester county transmission being from out of town and a last minute thing, they took care of my trans service without a hitch. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

So I ordered the same part number you did.. I almost ordered the wrong ones. So I have Power fold, power mirror, heated, and I have the 1&2 buttons on my seat memory. That's correct for what you have right.. I guess I'll find out.

Just FYI. The mirrors tilting down in reverse is a setting you can turn off. The tow mirrors do it too.

Just bought a 2019 ram 2500 max towing package 4:10 rear axle. Didn’t come with towing mirrors. But I didn’t think much of it because I had a spare pair at home. Put them on, they didn’t function and caused check engine light to come. Called dealer, they said my truck can’t have tow mirrors. How is that possible?? What 2500 cant have tow mirrors? But yes there is 1500s with V6 engines that can have tow mirrors... this makes no sense. Anyone run into this issue??

Did the tow mirror courtesy lights work after the install? Turn signals and side markers? The Mopar part installation says the truck needs to be reflashed for them to work

Great video Steve, as always. You made a comment about the mirror tilting and not being able to see, not sure if you knew or not you can adjust the tilt. Put it in reverse and adjust as needed and it should retain memory of that position, atleast it does in my 18 2500. Just an FYI. Keep up the great family and automotive content!

I really like my sport mirrors. If someone would make an aftermarket towing mirror for the Ram that was telescoping, I would replace them in a heart beat. I drove a truck with the towing mirrors and just couldn't focus well with them. When they were in the down position they gave me a fishbowl view, but were much better when flipped up. I understand why so many people leave them up.

The #1 thing I hate about Rams, those tiny mirrors. F250/F350 automatic telescoping/folding mirrors (or at least the portrait vs landscape). The ones you swapped out a better but still, nothing compared to them flipped up. There is a reason Semi-Trucks have the mirrors portrait and not landscape.

Megacabs look so much better with the large mirrors, not sure why they just fit the look better. Too bad they don't have an upgraded mirror that's like an inbetween for trucks that are crew cabs. Sure like the fold in part. Do they automatically fold in when you shut the truck off?

you can use alfaobd to enable the tow mirror features. This will correct the arrows when folded out.

You're going to need the support brackets for those. Without them it can overstress the sheet metal on the door and make it crack, I've seen it happen on trucks that came into the shop I work at and the customers have a bad day☹

I never understood why Dodge/RAM didn't have the tow mirrors as standard equipment on the HD trucks. My 04 3500 quad cab long box had the sport mirrors from the factory and that was the first thing to go. As for the tilt down feature you can turn that off in you settings on the center dash panel. Another first thing I did when I got my 2017 3500 RAM.Great video as always.

Steve if your interested in the brackets that come with the factory tow mirrors check out TheReapersRam video on KZbin. I watched it and I was able to change both put in the nuts required for the bracket and have it all back together in 40 mins. Another great video love the channel!!!
