I have a marquee type tent that covers the run from the poultry shed to the green house and debris netting over the side, last time I think they loved it as they got out more, even making the commute from the shed to the greenhouse in the pouring rain. Well done for spreading the word Tim 👍

Fix then a dusting box, put diettenacious earth in it. It will keep bugs from getting onto your birds.

I've just got myself some chickens last weekend, and knew of them is already poorly. Been really lethargic, one of her eyes are closed and seem to be abit foamy, and she's breathing open mouthed. Could this be Mycoplasma, and if so will it mean I have to cull her, amdoni need to do anything to the rest of them as they seem ok so far touch wood.. I'm new to all this and could really do with some advice 😬

It seems to be very important to try and keep wild birds away; putting food and water in the house is really important. I have geese and ducks, they present other problems, water in a duck house means that the house is turned into a pond! Ducks and geese don't show many signs of disease, other birds in contact with them if they are infected will be sick or die. Hens are easier, when we had the first UK outbreak they were happy when penned in, the ducks (just starting laying) were put off very badly, so we didn't have duck eggs that winter.

Thanks for this . Was aware of this bird flu but wasn't aware of the changes so have ordered some netting what's the idea of the straw around the hole of the outside area if it's wet weather surely it's still going to get wet

Wet straw is better than wet mud. 😀Plus eggs stay much cleaner. We usually use wood chip but had chance to shred any down yet.

Love your videos and great to see you having a rest from the weather up on your roof in one of your videos. Not sure if you are aware as you mention feeding kitchen scraps but unless these come from a vegan kitchen it is illegal to feed to your poultry.

Correct. 👍Just outer leaves rather than ‘scraps’ as such, usually from the veg garden so not via the kitchen.
