One thing I always liked about OG Yu Gi Oh is how much card were hyped up, like Mai and Pegasus were in awe of Black Luster Soldier (were for Pegasus cause he creates the damn game!) and it made the summoning even more hype!

It should have been the monster he pulled out against Pegasus for the win. Magician is weaker so Pegasus's reaction to it seems off when he knows Yugi has a better monster.

Not having specific materials but instead tied to the Levels of the monsters Tributed ED Ritual absolutely could work. I hope eventually we get it in Rush Duel.

I get the idea, but you'd need another drawback then. Because otherwise, you can just fill your deck with ritual spells and high level monsters. No matter what combination you draw, you can always bring out a strong Ritual monster on basically every turn (only way to brick is to draw no ritual spell at all). I get from the current perspective, it wouldn't be an issue, but remembering that these were part of the OG cards as well, they would have been completely broken.

@@Modie it would be like a synchro summon, with the ritual spell acting as a tuner monster. You would need the ritual spell + necessary monster levels

@@Tidus01x Again, that would still be too easy in the early cycle of YGO. All you have to do is put your deck full with 8 star monsters to summon 8 star ritual monsters. And you can even use cards then to get your 8 star monsters back. Today, no issue. But when YGO started, it would have been busted.

Something that always bothered me about this duel. He could've brought back dark magician or summoned skull and destroyed the harpy ladies (attack 2450), which would have i stabtly lowered the dragons attack, don't get my wrong i love the black luster soldier, but yugi could've won sooner

Mai loses 50 LP, and Yami loses 100 when the 2600 Dragon counterattacks. Yami is left with 200 and no real strategy while Mai only needs 1 equip spell to raise any Harpie above 2450. Yami needed Black Luster Soldier with its 3000 ATK. The only other option was combining Summoned Skull with Maikyu, the Magical Mist.

@iRazenrak he got monster reborn on the turn he used monster recovery, next turn he uses swords of revealing light. This stops attacks for 3 turns, if he eliminates at least 2 harpies, then the dragons attack drops below dark magician. Conversely if harpy lady sisters are treated as one card, as it is irl, then there would be no harpies on the field dropping harpies pet dragon to its original 2000
