I see nothing wrong with teams getting into the faces of the allblacks when perfroming the haka, the challenge is being accepted, these days you get a fine for standing a few meteres to close.

I remember when NZ played Australia in the 1991 WC David Campese practiced kicks while the Haka was being performed, “Campo probably knows the words to it!” was the commentator’s reaction!

I'm Australian and come from Victoria. Rugby union is a lot less popular here than other parts of Australia. In general rugby bores me but I always watch NZ play because of the haka.

I have to disagree. This Haka is one of the most memorable I've eve witnessed. The atmosphere of this haka and and then the whole stadium lighting up when they do the final jump. Still raises hairs thinking about it to this day. Modern hakas that are performed are still great though.

You clearly didn't watch the game or have forgotten it. It was torrid and a rather dull try-less anti-climax after the excitement of the semi-finals, made worse by the fact that most of the All Blacks were ill with food poisoning and well below their best. They certainly weren't "smashed".

Regardless of the historical win that was just meant to be that day for the south Africans, Jonah limu was an unstoppable force of nature thru the world cup. I was in college and played rugby here in the states. My studies suffered something fierce because everything was broadcast here in the middle of the night. Didnt sleep much during that time.
