Young Link's has got to be my favorite, since it's a direct callback to Ocarina of Time AND Smash 64. Definitely more fitting than Link's entrances from Brawl and SSB4, let alone Toon Link just _exploding into existence._

Personally, I reckon that BotW!Link's entrance should be him teleporting in with the Sheikah Slate, and the paraglider ought to have been his Up-Special recovery move (with a gust of wind providing the initial lift, and his descent then slowed like with Peach's parasol). I actually have several ideas as to how they could have shaken him up as a character even further, but that's a story for another time.

I really like the Sheikah slate idea! On a similar note, I personally think that Toon Link's entrance should've been him crashlanding onto the stage in a barrel, as if being catapulted by Tetra.

Forget about the fighting and all that, just thinking about how much work they put into each character’s animation when entering the stage at the start of a battle is really clever in my opinion. One of the most underrated things about the characters in smash bros too. The way their character is shown off simply by the entrance

What I love about Ness’s entrance is that it’s a nod off to him FAILING TO TELEPORT in his home game so while everyone else enters savagely Ness proceeds to screw up, get himself hurt, shake it off, and say LETS FIGHT BOYS Ness you will continue to make me laugh whenever I watch you enter

It's based on the animation in several Fire Emblem games when a unit with a Warp staff teleports another unit to a different space on the map. So, basically, an allied spellcaster is sending them onto the stage.

so fun fact most characters got all their animations mirror flipped instead of rotated 180 degrees when facing left in opposed to facing right but most characters with weapons still rotate 180 degrees when facing left while ice climbers still have mirror flipped animations despite having animations falcon is rotated 180 degrees despite not having a weapon this also applies to ganondorf lucario fox falco shiek wolf olimar wii fit trainer (i think) little mac beyonetta despite having guns on both hands

Corrin's pose was how I got to know Fire Emblem, by the way. I thought she (I usually use Female Corrin) was cool once I got her, so I used her in a team with Samus and Lucina, and when I saw that pose... I asked, "Did she just turn into a dragon or something?" So after the battle, I looked her up on the tips, and then perfection...
