ALL Dawntrail Healer Changes : FFXIV Info and Guide

The new expansion Dawntrail just came out for Final fantasy XIV, FFXIV. I want to have a look at all the changes that happened to the classes with the update, Looking at Healers now. We'll have a look at White mage, Scholar, Astrologian and Sage. And make our way through other classes in future videos. Hope you enjoy the insight and speculation as to how the changes will affect the classes.

Final Fantasy XIV is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Square Enix. Directed and produced by Naoki Yoshida and released worldwide for PlayStation 3 and Windows in August 2013, it replaced the failed 2010 version, with subsequent support for PlayStation 4, macOS, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Final Fantasy XIV is set in the fantasy region of Eorzea, five years after the devastating Seventh Umbral Calamity which ended the original version. In the Calamity, the elder primal Bahamut escaped from his prison, an ancient space station called Dalamud, unleashing an apocalypse across Eorzea. Through temporal magic, the player character of the original version escaped, reappearing at the start of A Realm Reborn. As Eorzea cements its recovery, the player must fend off a reignited invasion from the Garlean Empire.

ONE THING I MISSED OUT Sage: At level 82 gets Eukrasian Dyskrasia, an aoe dot with a 40 potency dot over 30 seconds. This is used after using Eukrasia on Dyskrasia II

3:25 i would like to point out that on top of the potency increase it also makes them instant casts

Nice vid, think you missed the aoe dot for Sage below 90. I have talked about this a lot before hand and if they aren’t gonna make healers have more attack options they should have a magic combo that just changes the basic spell so it isn’t so boring. After picto having it I really hope they take the page from them and give it to healers. Take away all the challenge of healers and tanks then please make their moves change so I’m not spamming the same combo/attack for over 90% of the fight please lol

Ah shoot, I did totally miss that one, yeah. Aoe dot is pretty cool as well. And yeah, I agree. With picto and viper (Kinda) have one button combos that chain between 3 different attacks. It would be nice to see it on healers. Although it wouldn't change anything mechanically, it would be more interesting visually.

@@dovakingbling they made it clear they won’t change healers back to the a realm/heaves days so might as well not get bored of the same attack spell for 4+ years now. Tanks and healers just feel so boring since they made them so easy. Rather have more visual flair than nothing at all but that’s just me.

I really hope Pictomancer is just a testing ground for how mages and healers should play given that it seems to be the obvious mage choice.

I'm not sure if I am to be happy or sad to see such miniscule alterations to the scholar class. Though not being able to zoom across the arena makes the class seem more unforgiving as you don't have a "get out of jail free" card to utilize compared to sage and now white mage, I think it is in good taste to bring more options for those who often find themselves running content for the first time. Alas I'd say that I'm quite pleased with the path Square Enix decided to trail to expand on the healer class and hope that the masses find that these changes sit well with them. Lest I forget, I truly hope this resolves the healer strikes ere long for I have a certain DPS class to level, art thou not of the same notion?

I can tell you already that the masses will not be happy with these changes, a lot of them were hoping for entire healer overhauls while these changes are minimal at best. It also emphasizes the homogeny between all the classes, with all of them receiving essentially the same vein of upgrades every single level. While a lot of people were complaining in endwalker that classes were losing their unique identity, I believe that argument will be stronger than ever now. Also, the only reason the dps queues are so long is because everyone and their grandmother is levelling viper and pictomancer, it's nothing to do with a healer strike. Tank queues are instant as well for this very reason

The only reason DPS queues are so bad are because the two newest jobs, picto and viper, are both DPS

I miss the AST from it's initial release. I liked having to know what the cards did and the pre boss battle prep you had to perform. You had to burn the correct cards and hold the buff until needed.

Unfortunately I never got to experience much of the earlier classes. I started playing around shadowbringers, but I never fully levelled and learned classes before endwalker came out, so I pretty much only know endwalker classes. It would have been cool to play it

Whm divine caress hp shield only 10s, should be 30s. Thats way too tight of a defensive buff window. I like ast new cards but miss the seal mechanic and astrodyne too. some of defense/heal cards are great in dungeons, but mostly feel useless during 8 player content. Instead of the new draw giving 2k mp, each card when played should give mp lol. Am enjoying 7.0 ast bit more than I thought. Philosophia baffles me as Sage is primary a ability healer. Yet this ability buffs healing spells, which sage only has 2 of, single target and aoe of heals with their shield versions same buttons. The rest of its heals are abilities, so should buff "healing actions" instead so it synergies with its aoe kardia effect too. Sch has a party wide healing actions buff (Fey Illumination) yet sage cant even get that.
