that was ballsy of Nintendo to put THAT kind of sacrifice in the story and it legit made me put the game down from how shocked I was, even before the actual transformation scene. even when Zelda made her decision I was like "No... No it cannot be that... no tell me someone else is going to sacrifice themselves to be a dragon" but deep down I knew, the Light Dragon bears a striking ressemblance to Zelda once you think about it, the transformation scene made me tear up

I love Rauru’s reaction to Link and hearing Zelda describing him, it’s such a Dad daughter dynamic, he sounds curious yet protective at first but then actually seems like he is genuine in wanting to meet Link, then smash cut to link being a war criminal

I’d say they are probably pretty accurate the goddess statues themselves aren’t that detailed but in skyward sword the statue of the goddess in sky loft was built when hylia were still around so we can say with pretty high certainty that the statue of the goddess on skyloft is what she looked like

Although I believe Zelda trusted Link to find a way to change her back someday, I can't imagine the mental anguish she went through to reach this decision. All that time contemplating the risks of draconification, considering Mineru told her the change would be permanent; essentially her own Garden of Gethsemane moment. She must have had the worst lump in her throat and the worst knot in her stomach when it came time to carry out her decision; the poor princess is probably tearing up inside underneath that stoic exterior. She looks like she's in pain after swallowing the stone, like her whole body feels like it's on fire. I feel like part of her was thinking, "It's all over. I'll never see Link or the children of Hateno again." The draconification scene rips my heart to pieces so much. Not only does Zelda suffer, but Link suffers knowing what happened to her. It's even more heartbreaking knowing how much Zelda had grown and developed as a result of Rauru and Sonia's love and teachings. 😭

That’s the thing about this Zelda. She’s selfless when it comes to making hard decisions. Botw she sacrificed herself by going to the castle in hopes of sealing the calamity for as long as it takes for Link to come to help her - and in here she sacrificed herself to give Link back the master sword. Both times she sacrificed herself to help those who she loves. If she hadn’t went to the castle to hold the calamity back, hyrule wouldn’t have survived if the calamity fully awoken and rampaged. In here, if she hadn’t turned herself then the master sword wouldn’t have been able to reach Link in the future to defeat the demon King. Both times she did what she thought was best.

@@criticallysarcastic If there's a third installment, I hope they develop Zelda even further. I don't expect her to ever be playable, but I would love to see where they go with her story. We got a small sampling of her learning to master her powers; it feels like something that would end up paying off later on down the line. The true ending also seems to suggest that Zelda is finally budding into a confident leader thanks to the kindess of Rauru and Sonia.

@@GeneralOlde I don’t think there will be a third installment for this. If they do it will honestly be a surprise, it would be a interesting thing to see what evil would be the next since this evil would gone. Unless they make Demise come back sometime.

@@criticallysarcastic The cycle will continue. It isn't broken. This is just another Ganondorf more or less with the full power of demise, albeit one without the triforce of power. The triforce literally never played a role in TotK. It was just iconography used by the Hylians.

I was stating that if there was a 3rd game for botw and totk I wonder who would play the role as the bad guy since the big bad of totk is gone by the end. I doubt enough time will pass for a new Ganondorf to appear. It would have to be some time for that to happen.

I love Ganondorf's design in this game. There's a lot of Japanese inspiration with his sword and his Demon King form, but then his Gerudo background and the ornate golden jewelry he wears is more Indian. His boss music also uses shamisen and Japanese rhythms, which was a very unique sound!

I completed the Dragon's Tears quest before completing a single "hero" quest in the Rito/Gerudo/Goron/Zora areas, and I regret it. Don't get me wrong---it's a great quest and the story told in the memories is excellent... But it also not only completely spoils what happened to Zelda WAY early, but then there's no change how Link reacts to the dozens of NPCs he encounters after that asking "Where's Princess Zelda? Do you know where she is?" and "I've been tasked with finding Princess Zelda! Can you help me?" And Link says nothing (and by that, I mean the whole animation where he motions with his hands like he's talking, and then someone reacts to his news). The only way to make that make sense is some twist headcanon acrobatics. I'm telling everyone who's only just started: please PLEASE wait until after the sage/hero quests, but BEFORE the final Ganon fight, to do the Dragon's Tears quest. It's really, for me, the best (and only logical) time to do it.

I did the tears before the main quest too. But I took it more that the Dragon was Astro protection herself into the situation. We see it when we grab the Master Sword

I feel either way feels right. When you do so before, it feels like you're really doing all this for Zelda, helping the other future sages to reach their hidden potential and lend their power to Link... But I can why to do so before reaching the Light Dragon, since it seems odd that you're going around still asking about where Zelda is, even though "Zelda" has been popping up randomly, even before reaching the temples, and seeing her in flashbacks and all 🤔

9:30 I believe in that scene we can see the Twin Peaks before they were the Twin Peaks, basically before the mountain was split (though its covered by Caro‘s face). It takes millions, if not billions, of years for such a rock formation to change naturally……

@@edgarmarques97 10,000 years before BotW was when the Sheikha used their technology to seal Calamity Ganon. Those were not present in the fight between Rauru and thr sages vs Ganondorf. So, this must have been a different event and thus also a different time.

Seeing these strong reaction to Zelda Made me want to write my own. It was a strange few events that led me to it. After I saved the great Deku tree for unrelated reasons, and he showed me where the sword was, I didn't immediately go for it, deciding to hold it until I got every sage, and went to a few shrines first. After I finished just one more shrine, I noticed that the quest marker for the sword had somehow moved from one side of the map, directly on top of me. I still didn't want to get it, but it was right there, so I figured why not, that's when I first noticed it was in the head of the dragon. Coming off of being killed by another dragon not long ago, I was angry, and started cursing her out telling her to give me back my sword as I tried pulling it out, but I didn't have enough stamina so I fell off. Right below where I fell, there just happened to be the Purah pad Geoghyph. I go for it, and that's when I realized I just cursed out Zelda. And then after getting the right stamina and pulling out the sword, that's when "Zelda" just happened to fly by Hyrule Castel, which I had recently discovered had the new Hero Tunic Zelda personally made for Link as a gift. Either I got really lucky with a bunch or coincidences, or that dragon was telling me something. Either way, that was an interesting twist, and I liked seeing another reaction to it.

Yeah, I get the freedom of doing anything in basically any order but they should've figured out some way of making them appear in the right order. When I did mine I didn't even go to the temple, after I got the first tear from the balloon I just looked for them in the sky and got them in a random order and it was pretty weird seeing some of the last memories first Though I guess the order really didn't matter much at all except I saw what happened to Sonia as one of the first memories but otherwise it was fine

So the three dragons names are dinraal, naydra, and farosh. Are servants of the goddesses din, Nayru, and farore. And have nothing to do with the light dragon.

I have a theory that the dragons ARE the goddesses. They were people who were courageous, powerful, and wise with secret stones that amplified their elemental magic. Whenever they would come together, they would be able to use their powers to make anything into reality. They created the triforce that had these traits embedded into it and became the dragons so they would live on to watch over Hyrule and how the Triforce would be used. This was how they could bring about events such as the flood and even somehow traverse through time to different branches. They kept themselves hidden with that cloud barrier we see forming when they go through a portal in BOTW. Their names even give away some clue as to who they were. The legend of these goddesses and the creation of the Triforce were passed through so many generations that they were visualized with a different appearance and name to fill in any blanks with the story. Since Zelda is supposed to be the reincarnation of Hylia, she too counts as a goddess who became a dragon to bring about changes into history. Of course, I know there may be holes to my theory, but I just thought it’d be an interesting take.

Considering the facial differences between those three and the Light Dragon, it’s possible that Din, Nayru, and Farore were Zonai: they have a similar facial structure and their ears are much much larger than the Light Dragon’s. It would explain why they were/are seen as goddesses between Zonai technology and secret stones, and it would explain their ascension from Hyrule through draconification.

I had a much better time with the French voice acting. After hearing the rather poor & rushed-sounding English voice acting, I’m glad I stuck with French. I can’t believe the voice acting is worse here than in BotW for English since this game took longer to make as a whole. It feels like they were rushed to read the script rather than trying to make the emotions feel genuine. They sound too monotone. Though I’d say an equally large issue revolves around who they chose to voice the characters. They just don’t fit the character that they’re voicing. I still to this day do not agree with the choice for Zelda’s voice actor. She just cannot deliver her lines
