This is an extremely helpful video. The breakdown of each effect has helped me understand how they work and what I can now do with them. I've had my RC 505 for years but I could never utilize it to it's fullest potential because I had no idea of what I was doing. I feel extremely hopeful that I'll be able to make some cool stuff now. I had no idea that the Filter effect could make those sounds, I nos understand how Beatboxers are able to make cool effects. Thanks Andy 👍

Thank you so very much for your awesome videos!!! Can you explain how you can put an effect on one track, save on that track only, then move on and place new effects on the next track??
@DFTBAndy4 жыл бұрын
you cannot save effects to tracks (except for the 4 last track fx that I discussed in a different video). If you want to apply an effect on one track only, just hit the edit buttons of the other tracks after selecting the effect (such that only the desired track has a blinking edit button). Hope that is helpful...

Awesome stuff man, I watched a 4 of your RC505 videos today and found it very helpful. You may have mentioned this at some point but I didn't hear... Do you know if it is possible to EQ individual tracks? My assumption is that it is only possible if you turn on EQ as an input effect while recording the track but figured it's worth asking. If only all of the FX were able to overdub instead of just the 4 that do. Still an incredible machine though I am not complaining.

@JWGMarie3 жыл бұрын
@@DFTBAndy not anything in particular as I loved all your info. When I’m watching others loop they may have looped say 10 different segments. Is this done with panning? I don’t want everything playing at the same time. I want to move in and out of different sounds. Or is a segment dubbed over one recording and then wiped? Thanks Andy 😊

What is going to be the dealbreaker for me, and whether I keep this or not, is if I can find a way to somehow use different effects for each track, and I don't know if that is possible? When I turn the effects on, it applies it to all of the tracks that I have the effects on. How can you make it so that each track has it's own seperate effect that it stays on, without playing the same effect as all the others?
@DFTBAndy4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's not possible with the 505. You can only ever apply all or none to a track ;)
@kingtrance68264 жыл бұрын
@ Loop Creative Andy - That’s unfortunate because it’s very expensive for only a global effects unit.
@natanunorthodox4 жыл бұрын
@@kingtrance6826 Since I got the unit, there is work arounds for only having to use one effect. The input effects amount and type can be changed for each track (hi hat, string, snare, etc), and on the track fx, you can have three different effects, but if you want to, you can mute any track, and make the tracks that you do want the effects to be applied to, applied to that track. The magic for me is with the input fx, because when you record one sound, you can change the parameter and type of effect when recording another. I don't think alot of people know this. I might do a video on it here...
