Very cool shop, with extremely beautiful swords. One critic is it is spell "presence" not "presents". Presents are gifts, presence is being in the same space, or an essence something gives off.

He's not lying about what he said about Tozando... I actually took the time to fill out a sword order form on their website. I got a full quote in a little under a month. They worked with me a lot with that order. They let you choose everything about the blade (I mean *everything*), even the swordsmith who makes it. They also let you choose all the fittings. They have quite the selection too!

I train iaido in Poland and I also bought a custom-designed iaito from Toznado, (very pleasant experience ordering it btw) I have it 3 years now and after 3 years of regular training it not only looks as good as when I bought it (still amazed every time I pull i out of the saya, watching the hamon under sunlight), it also feels really great! (Tsukamaki is solid and even has better grip than when I first got it) The body of the sword, the construction is very good. Toznado is really worth the price you pay!

Great video! All my iaido equipment is from Tozando and I am very pleased with it. Their beginner iaito was perfect for newbies like me- lighter weight and a little shorter in length so I can get accustomed to using it without getting fatigued quickly. Notto is easier with a shorter blade length, too. All well crafted products. Even the uniform is beautiful.and durable. My Sensei highly recommends their products. They will not disappoint! Thanks, Shogo for giving us your awesome virtual tour!

Our study included having a pen pal also! It was so cool. We exhanged collectible cards and coins. I sent hockey cards and received street fighter cards that i still cherish! My friends and i about 7 years ago went to Japan for a Yakigussen championship representing Canada and won! It was literally the highlight of my life!! A dream come true. The food! the people! the culture! So kind and generous. Beleive me when I say i never wanted to leave! my friend Steve is 7'1 when we were there for the tourney he was a spectacle lmao! In a good way. Peoples minds were just blown lol Have a great day! And keep up the good work!

I really liked seeing how the armor pieces fit together and that one katana upstairs in the center display without any sageo or tsuba was so cool! It really shows you the beauty and craftsmanship of the core blade.

Hi Shogo, love the sword videos and Tozando visits! One minor thing regarding the Naginata. Using Western terminology for weapons I would not translate as 'Long sword'. Generally we would use the term 'Polearm' for any type of weapon made up of a blade mounted on the end of a long shaft. For example spears would also fall into this category. In Western historic weaponry we have a huge number of different types of polearms, but the closest thing to a Naginata would be what we call a 'Glaive'. This is essentially a curved blade (generally single edged) that can be used for cutting or thrusting, mounted on a long shaft. Very similar to a Naginata, although generally with a slightly different blade shape. So the most accurate translation IMO would be 'Glaive', but personally I would use 'Polearm' instead, as many English speakers would not know what a Glaive is unless they are interested in weaponry! However I think most people would know what the word 'Polearm' means. If talking about Yari (maybe in future videos?!), I would just use 'Spear'. That is more specific and everybody knows what spears are!

Thank you Shogo for another great video at Tozando. I wonder how many people have now worn the set of armour that you and Tomoko wore? I tried on the same set (or at least the same design of armour) in February of 2020. I noticed they still have the Yari (spear) on top of the the sword display cabinet by the sofa upstairs. As a new hobby I have been making my own pieces of samurai armour to put a set of my own together. I have had some difficulty in making or finding suitable Kikko plates and oval Kusari links. If anyone knows a Japanese company that makes parts for armour that would be amazing.
