One thing this serial has over the 1943 film is more dynamic fight choreography. It may follow the tropes of the hero getting overpowered or stalemated at the end of each chapter, but in this one Batman's got better moves and looks much more competent than he did previously. That said, Robin did get the short end of the stick. He spends most of his time getting his ass kicked than dishing it out.

This comment is very appreciated. Re-watching the video I can analyze and really grasp more enjoyment out of batman's positioning and movement, his physical power.

@Ruby Williams It may not truly be some overly choreographed picture, but it’s definitely pleasing to see that aspect here than other times of the Batman. This film is definitely more dynamic than anything I’ve seen, there is such reaction involved to these two characters: the way they move is an excellent sight and the positioning here is so primal, it’s explosive. I wish you could see this.

I feel like robin's fight scenes where choreographed with someone much shorter in mind. If they had cast a 14 year old in the role these fight scenes would be far less awkward.

Man this Batman I would prefer than the 43 Batman because this is when he’s actually knocking the thugs out.

John Duncan as Robin wasnt much tougher than Douglas Croft had been in the 1943 Batman.I think those two would lose in a tag team match against Pee Wee Herman and Barney Fife!

I'm pretty sure this would be considered pretty darn violent for the time, considering the 1960s series was criticized by parents groups for its violence.
@rclark7773 жыл бұрын
While yeah, this serial and the one before aren't that great and have some incredibly dated moments, it's the earnerst and honestly endearing cheesiness and niave camp of it all, it's unique place in DC Comics history, both serial's amazing scores (though to be fair Batman always has awesome music for his film endeavors), and the absolutely REVOULTIONARY way of filming fight-scenes that makes both serials worth a watch. They're definitely products of their time, but in a good way. Thanks for uploading.
