ALL FINISHED after ENGINE REBUILD - Discovery 4 SDV6 2016 / S4-Ep19

We completed the last items on our new Land Rover Discovery 4 after fixing a snapped crankshaft and getting the vehicle back on the road. In this episode, we change the oil after 1500 km, install accessories like a DAB+ radio, cell phone mount and more. We hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching.

Hi guys, Those two plastic fixings hold the air ducting for the radiator to the front crossbrace on the body, just by the crashbar. Look where the air goes in and look straight up! Hope this helps

I'm surprised that the D4 doesn't come with DAB+ ... but I think you can change the DAB module for a DAB+ from an Evoque (that is a regular swap on Jaguar). Great morning video and great work as usual .. with the OMG rate returning to normal level 😁

Yes, I too was somewhat surprised at that. Thankfully, my 2015 HSE Lux does. I will be looking to retrofit DAB to my Disco 3 though.

Excellent, the discovery is looking great. The RTT looks very good sat low like that too. I bet the previous owner would love to have it back but I think you'd be crazy to let this one go. Hi Christian, I just wanted to comment about your comment 5W40 C2/3. You should probably consider a ACEA C4 mixture as it has the same low SAPS levels as a ACEA C1 && the HTHS viscosity of your much beloved 5W40 oils. So, no risk on DPF side && better protection in high temperature situations. To my understanding that is precisely what you want to acheive with 5W40, but in this case without having to cut back on the low SAPS. Your thoughts about my proposition? Regards JAC

5w dumb ass... Would you not have put the real McCoy in form the start? OMG! That Garage was useless-what's a fuse? They'll all the same though... Run all 3, each has it's own little character and you'll never be without a vehicle and it's really interesting for us lot at the other end of the wire...Great fun video you two. Well done!

No, we had a lot of 5W30 left and it is very important to "clean out the system" of all minute debris that may be left from the damage or the rebuild. You must do an oilchange anyway after a short amount of time after an engine rebuild because of this reason. 🙋‍♀️

Great series on the LR4 and the install of the LR3 gear on it. I am looking forward to the LR3 engine work - I have an LR3 TDV6 and am keen to see the differences with removing the body (if any) and the engine internals if you go that far.

We did the body off on the LR3 now and it was much less work in the engine compartment. Our video will not be as detailed. Christian

It was off in about 4 hours. You have much less parts to take off. On a Disco 4, you have to take off the entire coolant hose system. Which you hardly even touch on the Disco 3. The whole purpose for the body-off is of course the engine rebuild. So we are all eager to see how that one looks. 👍🙋‍♀️Vera

If you mix the used engine oil with some diesel you can use it to paint any wooden outdoor structure including fence panels.

Greetings all the way from SOUTH AFRICA. Those two plastic clips left over fit in the plastic shroud just above the impact bar and they hold the plastic shroud onto the radiator support from the bottom Thats a front bumper off job. Great video as always and i always have a 400 amp in my tool box

Congrats beloved couple!! What an amazing job you’ve done. Let me share my experience with a product you’ve probably heard of… Ceratec by Liqui Moly. In my LR3’s last oil change, I’ve added a bottle of Ceratec to my 5w40. It’s f*g unbelievable!!! Temperature, pressure, idle, noise. It just runs sooooo much better. Soooooo smooth. You should try it on all Landys ❤❤❤🏋🏻🏋🏻🏋🏻🏋🏻 Keep it up! Juan

16:18 I've fitted extended roof rails now, so that trim piece came off. Boy those plastic pins are a pain. Tip: Bend the sides of the pin head up to form a handle, then unscrew the pin. That way they don't break, or leave any plastic in the threads to make the stainless steel rail bolts snap. 20:31 It still does. And it's even more beautiful now with Tango 🟠🟧🔶️ accents.😊

The 300A fuse is there in case of an accident where the crumple zone squashes the fender/frame and shorts the + terminal. Similarly to Electric vehicles. An easy and cheap device for modern cars that need to crumple a lot to save the passengers.
