Have you considered running those Starscythes + Coldstar as flamers instead of burst cannons? 10D6 shots at ap -2 is kinda stinky. Ditto with Flamers & Farsight since he gives +1 to wound. I also enjoy running the Starflare Ignition System on an Enforcer commander instead; Deep Strike in, hit something nasty and peace out

had no idea tau looked so cool. I play kill team and might have a 40k army someday, but if I'm getting a bunch of models I'm probably making a night lord csm army. I DO like your tau army. Seeing it reminds me how much I love this setting, and how many different things fit together in this mess.
