Dr Chris ? --- one of a kind !! Only an Australian can be thàt daring .. afraid of nothing. Relates beautifully to all farm animals. That is a unique trait 👌 This is one of his endearing characteristics which makes him the star 🌟 of your show [his devilish good looks aside] 👍 😉 👌

I would give Dr. Chris an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ !! Also, I knew that Bello had vertigo right when I saw him "walk" and when I saw his eyes moving from side to side !!!!! I, myself have had vertigo before, so I knew exactly what he had !!!! With the donkey, I was wondering if maybe there was something up in his hooves such as glass or a nail and they would be under the mud that was packed in his hooves . There was no update on the donkey, so how is he doing now ? I was wondering why you didn't trim the other tusks on the pig because they were so long . Also, I was concerned that he would eat his tusks that Dr. Chris buried in the pig's hay . I thought that they might get stuck in his digestive tract. Hopefully Dr. Chris just did that for show and he really didn't leave them there .

Right? I love how they said, "Bed!" Then he was like, "Yes I think I'll go sleep this off after my delicious meal." It is funny because my Dad has a joke with my son where he says, "Hey you! Bed!" Then my son will say, "Bed Grandpa!" They go back and forth a couple times, and it's like our little routine thing before bed... Then they will shout, "Good night!" It's cute hearing it across our rooms in the hallway.

I'm a Graphic Designer, and lost my job during covid, and after struggling to find work I settled for a jog on a farm where I was a Calve Caretaker but also worked with the other animals like the lambs, goats, and big cows and even Emo's and Chickens and assisting the farm vet with small tasks, it was the most satisfying job I ever did in my whole life, I wish now that I could have been a vet and just work with animals all the time

Gator story made me giggle. I have a savannah monitor someone dumped on my doorstep (definitely not socialized properly and has some husbandry issues). You have never heard such a loud noise from such a small lizard (she's only about a foot½ right now). Also, I have always got my creatures from responsible breeders, as babies. So all of mine can be handled very easily. I didn't think twice about picking up the lizard to avoid an off-leash dog while out on a walk...which is a problem when you belatedly realize that monitors don't know the meaning of letting go of prey. They also do the deathroll and headshake that Crocs and gators do. Normal people flail. Then there's me and my friend, trying to hold onto a muscular lizard as I'm trying to keep the giggles under control. An hour later we did call non-emergency who advised to call actual 911 because he was not letting go and crush injuries are bad news. Everyone showed up for the most interesting call of the week and he did eventually let go. Don't mess with lizards.

I couldn’t finish this episode because the poor pup who was brought in hit way to close to home. I had recently lost my pet, also six years old who had a similar experience. She had a tumor on her spine or brain, we never bothered with X-rays since we thought we had days left. Luckily we had six more months with her but we had put her down last month because she had finally given up her fight. The last we saw the vet they had suggested it might have even been cancer. I hope that there was a solution that could be found and if not I hope she enjoys what time she has left with him.

I am so surprised that the lady with the donkeys wasn’t aware of what Stringhalt is, I’m quite sure Chris knew immediately what the problem was but went through a few other things first, but it was very obvious to those who know the signs of the problem ,that’s easily detected was. He gave her a rehabilitation plan but honestly depending on how much damage has been done most horses that usually get it sadly need euthanasia. Surgery is an option but the success rate is not high and any rehabilitation from stringhalt can be up to 3 yrs. Sadly my sisters retired old show pony had to euthanised at 18 yrs old after moving to a new home with unknown pasture quality. There were my 2 Arabian mares and my retired dressage thoroughbred in the same paddock and there was not a problem between them. It’s crucial to always carefully check your pastures before turning livestock out, and regularly keep on eye out for any toxic weeds known. I hope this donkey finds himself getting better, as it seems he’s had a tough enough life already and deserves to live his life out wonderfully.

Wait wait wait wait. Wait. A cow can live with three legs? Their weight isn't too much? Well wouldn't that mean that a horse could live with three? I need to do more research on this, this is an amazing find.
@orchiduh
@orchiduh 2 жыл бұрын
A horse for sure could live with three legs, but because of their complex anatomy it would never have a good quality of life. Especially missing a front leg would be detrimental. Their weight is distributed 60% front and 40% on their hind legs. So unfortunately not. Have you seen those bizarre videos surfacing recently of horses with prosthetic legs? The owner/rescuer is confident she’s given them a new chance in life, but even with that missing limb getting a “replacement” every single one of those horses are very clearly lame. That cow seemed to be doing pretty well on three legs though, maybe because it was born with only three? Or possibly because the hoof could adapt so cleverly. Either way, I doubt most cows, as well as horses, could live a full, painless life on three legs.
