When I lived in Japan sometimes Japanese children would ask me what country I am from. I would say Nihonjin and they would laugh and say ie. I would ask how many legs do I have and they would say nihon. Then I would say sou da yo nihonjin da.

@@littlelaurenadventures7388 That's right isn't it? I'm (a Japanese Person/A two-legged person). The joke is "nihon" means Japan, but also "two sticks." "Jin" simply means "person." The kids ask "What kinda person are you/Where are you from?" and he responds "I'm a two legged person" but the kids take it as "I'm a japanese person." That's the joke!

Very nice video! If I can suggest something, it'd be even better if you put in the desdription the timing for each counter, to let your followers know precisely the moment in which you talk about a specific counter. I think this could be really helpful for both you and those who watch your videos to more easily consult it without seeing the whole video each time. This could be a good idea imho, btw keep going like this, your lessons are very well structured and helpful for those like me who are studying japanese!

@bloodxholic

No it’s because of the Japanese language it self,because in the Japanese language the don’t have an “L” sound so they replace it with an “R” sound, also they don’t pronoun the “R” exactly like an “R” ,it’s something between the “R” and “L” sound

What happens if you use the wrong counter for a subject? Why does such a clunky counting system even exist? I'd like to know the history and reasoning behind this. Coming from English it makes no sense to me to add something so clunky to a grammar. For instance, wha if our understanding of the nature of an object changes? Does the counter need to change too? Isn't it also somewhat subjective? What's small to one may not be small to another. Edit: I just realized that English also has an equivalent counter concept, but it's not applied as generally. For example: - Two papers vs - Two pieces of paper - Two sheets of paper The first is ambiguous (is it Two pieces of paper? Or two publications--as in Two white papers? Which includes an indeterminate number of pages), but the latter two are more precise and clear.

You are wrong dude, KZbin videos take our life time and give them money too... the least that they need to do is make their watchers happy and confortable with they are watching, and this video is just a way to make people to buy premium accounts in JapanesePod101.com to get their progress in Japanese faster. Besides there is a lot of companies that make the same thing and make more money than them because their do exactly like said before, make great part of their watchers happy and confortable. The you tube public makes something like "Quality Control". Risa-san makes the watchers happy and confortable because she is cute and a little funny like a shiny child. That's what I think, but... whatever... I enven don't know english very well to discuss things like that ^^

You got a point. This channel is too poor of viewes even with Risa-san, so sad X.[ (But she is amazing, just the content of the channel is going too normaly and sad) I have Brazilian manos trutas das quebradas with more views per video than the best vídeo in this channel, and they just do stupid things, that is really sad... Alright, I agree, they do all this almost for free xD ( But I think that without Risa-san's happynes and some shiny child jokes that she does this video became just another boring and common video betwen thousand of another videos on youtube and that makes the process to learn something more difficult and AGAIN boring) Do you don't agree with me? '-' Oh god, I learned almost all my english just by watching movies and playing some RPGs so don't judge it like some Argentinos judged my spanish in another channel please. ^^
