This is something I have never understood. How can that tan leather be described as being packed full of oils and waxes? After you added grease (oils and waxes), it darkens so much. If it darkens by adding a small amount wax, how can the leather already have so much in it?

Couple of questions... What are you using for your lubricant ("grease" as the presenter calls it)? Why do I never hear tallow being recommended for a conditioner/oil? It seems like it would be a natural choice (since it comes from the same animal...).

I'm confused. On some you said smooth and some rough but then rough and smooth which is it. To my knowledge the rough out is the more fiber like side. And the smooth is more the casual side. You began showing roughout (fiber like ) then smooth and then said called smooth (fiber like) then roughout(smooth) through the middle of the video then switched back to roughout (fiber like) and then smooth ?

I think I know what "pull up" means, but trying to verify it via google just takes me to pull on boots. It seems as if when the boot is stretched, the oils and waxes disperse to other areas of the leather that aren't being stretched. Is that right, and is there anything I'm missing?
@lukelarsson3 жыл бұрын
This site has a really good article on Pull Up leather. stridewise.com/what-is-pull-up-leather/ “ Pull up is a finishing technique, not strictly speaking a type of leather - any kind of leather can be pull up. A popular finishing technique for top grain leather, the pull up finishing technique infuses hot oil and/or wax into the hide. The intricate finish allows for lines to form in the leather when pulled or stretched. This pulling creates the desirable “two tone effect.”
