Turns out cats can smell if someone is a mermaid. I was singing in some popular area and brought my cat with me. Nalani walked over and watched my sim sing, and my cat sniffed by her feet and it showed the mermaid tail thought bubble. Just found it out and thought I'd share. (If this was already said in the video, sorry I forgot it was stated)

Apparently they smell more fishy as they get dehydrated too, so cats might notice it more.

We shouldve gotten a trident but they gave us a shell 😭😭We also shouldve gotten more tails like octopus tails , jellyfish tails, shark tails. More skin details like more fins and ears!! This pack couldve been so much better. And more powers!! Ughh the powers are lacking!! We couldve gotten h2o powers !!

EA Making SIMS 4 like.. Feminine and gay way. Which is dumb. Like.. Come on. We need more violence and stuff too! Like.. They need to make it like we can butcher animals. Or killing sims(uncensored but make it less gorey without flesh coming out or something). Or something like that.

mermaids can "talk to" fish in aquariums / bowls (mine was fish my mermaid caught while fishing that were in individual bowls). when giving a mermaid infant a bath both parent & infant get + happy or + playful moodlets "mermaidic bathtime" "water baby". mermaid sims make dolphin noises & mermaid babies while crying can sound like a dolphin & make the same noise. mermaids & sims with "child of the ocean" trait when seeing dead mounted fish will autonomously go over & cry "mourn fish friend" & will cry be upset & sometimes be nauseaus & throw up if eating food with fish or seafood in.

I've read that if a spellcaster and a mermaid have a child that becomes a spellcaster, the child will also inherit the mermaid powes. I'm going to try that out.

@@PeteyPlaysIt The offspring is in its child form now. He has the special lighthouse moodlet and the three inheritable traits (ancient bloodline, Sulami magic and father winter's son) but no trace of any mermaid power to be found in him as of just yet.

I just did this last night actually, and the child came out kinda weird? She has no tail or hydration need, but she has all mermaid abilities, including sleeping in the water, calling a dolphin, calling rainstorms, Siren abilities, but she has a spell caster skill tree and is able to practice magic, I think the hybrid system in Sims 4 is definitely a trial and error lol.

If you have City Living then Mersims learn Singing skill faster than other sims. However, I wish the Siren's Lullaby voice filter was used for all singing a Mersim does as it would make their singing voices more unique. The weather ability is very useful for gardeners, as they can just call the rain to water their gardens (as long as they are outside) and then stop the rain again after. Also handy if you are throwing an outside wedding or other party as you can guarantee good weather for it. Being able to summon storms also keeps visitors away if you want a quiet day/night in, as nobody will try visiting during the storm. The power that drains the needs can also be used to kill sims by doing it twice in a row, or even by accident as the target would have to get back to shore on 0 Energy. Great for playing Evil Mersims.

Aww shucks thank you so much! Island living is one of my more favoured expansion packs! Though defs buy on sale... I feel expansion packs in the sims 4 don't have the same amount of content as they did in 3 so always keep an eye out for a sale :).

I believe I could do a concept for more Low level Little lullaby: the tense and the inspirational Wheather manipulation (rain only) Underwater eye: the deep from sims 3 but just one lot Lv 4-5 Cold heart: ice manipulation… can make a sim feel cold, freeze them… mabye kill them snowgrave style Wish-granter: can be approached by sims to grant a wish, from getting rich, finding love or being an occult… and you can kind of reap a little reward for complying Tail related power ( permanent passive powers but relegate the user to only tail, sluggish Af without legs [ can overwrite weakness] ) Spineless: for the jellyfish tails, they feel fine 24/7 can befriend aliens with ease and are (obtained by being stung by jellyfish ) Savage: shark tail and can eat anything and act like under water werewolfes… will not die to piranhas ever (obtain by mermaid entering piranha pond) Regular tail: fishy form….they can go all fish Weaknesses: ( work like celebrities) Love obsessed: basically romantic trait Fishy face: you look ugly, people don’t like you Landlubber: the sea water is disgusting to them Fish-memory: will not remember what they are doing

This is the one occult pack I still don't have. Maybe eventually. I have Get to Work and have yet to identify an alien or go to their world if you can. My scientist Demitri Polinski is trying to contact them though. He took a cell call after one attempt, but I feel like that's a prank. Gonna have to use the satellite dish to bust everyone's bladder against and teach them not to mess with ol Demitri.

Why doesn't my merman not have the mermaid's kiss option? Is it restricted to the females? I don't recall my mermaid having the mermaid's kiss option either. Or is it trait-specific?

IIRC, merfolk Sims with the Good Trait can't use Summon Ocean Threat or Siren's Call. I'm not sure about Mermaid's Kiss.

I know some people are upset we don’t have octopus tails or the like but I think it makes sense mermaids are part fish right so a cephalopod tail wouldn’t make sense I know Ursula from the little mermaid exists but she’s technically a cecaelia not a mermaid , i think shark eel or even seahorse tails could work because their all fish (also in the case of sharks it’d be easier to animate) I do think we should have had a bigger variety of tail styles I’d like to make a clownfish mermaid maybe if we ever get a refresh or hell even a supernatural style pack that adds new occults and expands on existing ones
