one thin i feel is missing from this video is the fact that the coloration issue was actually somewhat fixed on the game boy color. this is because people that worked on metroid 2 also worked on the GBC design, and some of them put in code specifically for metroid 2 that allowed a custom color palette for how they thought the suits and game should look. you should check it out, it's really interesting and a cool bit of background story.
