My mom os 100% a monogamous knitter. To top that, she never tinks, never froggs, never makes more than a quarter row mistake she might have to remake. I, on the other hand, have 4 or so projects at a time. I have frogged, tinke, cut, kitchener a whole top to bottom, a car project (socks), etc. We r all different, but we love the art!😍

I appreciate that professional knitters such as yourself also have dozens of projects going at once. It makes me feel very validated in my project variety and trust that things will get done, and even if they don't it's just important that they gave me joy while I worked on them! 💙

Love the videos. Would putting grosgrain ribbon on the opening for your zipper, help withe the rippled effect of the zipper. When sewing zippers to a stretchy material, I have to make sure the fabric does not stretch, as the zipper will not and cause waves. Just a thought. But the sweater is beautiful

If I get a choice, I'm a monogamous knitter- having multiple projects running stresses me out! I just finished a period of multiple projects, and it is SUCH a relief to be back to just one! (Well, two if you count the one that I can't work on until I figure out the ran-out-of-a-limited-run-color issue.) I don't know how you manage to keep them all straight, and, more importantly, get them all DONE. Goodness knows, I end up adding SO MUCH TIME to all of my projects, especially the larger ones, when I do. Regardless, my current project is a prayer shawl with a lace border that will be going to my aunt to help get her through her battle with cancer. It's a very lovely shawl... and I've been working on it since June, in no small part because I've had multiple other projects to work on instead of focusing on it.

I thought I was the only one that had a lot of projects going at once. I am working on an Irish Lace knit blouse, a crocheted skirt, a bathing suit, a reproduction of a dress from the 1700's, another Irish lace purse and hat; I am like you. I buy 10 to 20 skeins of yarn at a time and store it all in plastic storage containers that weigh 30 pounds each. Ideas for different projects keep occurring to me. My husband to be told me that if we ever separate, he will give me full custody of all the yarn in the house. Haha

I always have several projects on the go. Always a patch based blanket or throw, always at least one sweater or cardigan and then various small projects. At the moment they are a scarf for my husband (first item he's ever asked for) but I've run out of yarn and am awaiting new stock, and a soft toy for my cousin's baby. Toys are fun to make and always good for a bit of variety. BTW I like your "failure" very much. I would remove the zip and knit a constrasting placket to make it a button up sweater.

I'm a sort of monogamous knitter, because I like to finished projects. If I have too many things going on at the same time I'm afraid nothing would get finished and I will lose interest. But there are exceptions, like when I knit a sweater on very fine needles... Then I usually knit one to two smaller projects in between, just to get something finished before continuing on the larger project. But I do plan several new projects at the same time, dream and ponder on how I want it to look like. Currently I'm knitting on a bunad shawl (almost done), and I am also working on finally finishing a two year old pullover, before I start on a new one that is waiting for me :D I really liked the fun colors of your zipper sweater.

The Lola top looks great- can't wait for the pattern. I only really started knitting again in March (and I was pretty much just a scarf person prior to that point!). I have 3 projects on the go currently. The first I started in March, and is a complicated aran cable cardigan. I've completed the back, which was just moss stitch, but now the front of the cardigan is multiple cables and takes much longer. I can only work on it when I am really awake! The next is the Sunday Brunch Sweater in Drops Wish Sea Green. It's so soft and quick to knit up. I just have the sleeves and collar to go, but I only have 3 skeins left and am worried I will run out. The third project I started last week and is the Ooh Lala top. I'm making it in Drops Safran in colour Lavender, but I've only finished about 10cm of the body so far as I'm quite slow.

My ‘project’ is to learn to knit continental instead of English. I don’t even do that by throwing the yarn with my index finger, I move my whole hand. I’ve wanted to learn continental to knit faster. (I learned at maybe 7 hrs old how to knit like I do now and I’m almost 67!) I have not knit loads over the years but have gotten excited about it lately. As I have searched You-tube I found the Norwegian style and OH MY GOODNESS, it has clicked with me! The whole trick being not weaving the yarn thru fingers, just holding finger flat along the left needle and picking from there. (That weaving the yarn through my fingers is why I could never do it previously) I’m so excited..it has been tricky to learn the purl because I was twisting it and it took me about 3 hours to figure what I was doing wrong. Now I’m just practicing to get my tension where I like it. I enjoy your channel so much and I am inspired to really get going soon on a solid project only knit my new found way.

Beautiful works in progress! Thank you for sharing. Here is my tip when working with multiple strands of yarn held together: cake them up! Create a new "ball" with all the strands combined. This reduces the knots and time wasted untangling the mess! It might be a little more prep time but it definitely makes the knitting or chrocheting portion of the project a lot more pleasant :)
