About a decade or so ago when I was in high school, I got all my rods, all my tackle, and all my tools stolen out of the bed of my truck. I wasn't parked downtown for 15 minutes, and only away from the truck for about 5. I lost all ambition to even fish for the longest time. And only recently got back into it. It was easily like 2k worth of gear. And I don't even want to think about what it would all cost now with prices being so damn high. It's a tough pill to swallow and can really hit you in motivation to fish depending on how bad it wipes you out, at least you have your rods, and hopefully don't keep every lure you own under your seat. I got got for every last fishing Item I owned short of like one fillet knife.

Happened to my uncle's buddy back in the 90's..had literally all the fishing gear he owned in his jeep..they took it ALL...as far as i know he just quit fishing after that..family man and couldn't afford to replace everything

Well ya know this is not a fishing story it’s a life story because in todays world you can’t let your guard down for a second with anything you do your guard has to be up 24/7 & you kinda have to feel like everyone is guilty or up to something. People are just stalking society just looking for an opportunity to steal something & unfortunately it’s usually from people that just work hard for what they have. If you have that much tackle I’d try putting a air tag on it you can’t put one on a rod & reel but 💯 you find your boxes you find your rods & reels. And I. Sure you probably have storage on the boat that locks but understandable you’ve probably had everything just like it was with no issues & that one time out of hundreds some low life takes it. But ya you can’t even buy shoe laces at Walmart or Advil at Vons anymore without having to push a button to get help because it’s locked up I had to push a button just recently to have someone come to open a glass case to get a Vanilla car air freshener.
