I’ve been buying from cozy beaks, and my Pionus and conures love them. My Pionus especially destroys those lovely soft woods. Cos of your video I Just placed an order with a toy a day for when they go on holiday. Thanks so much for this video, I hope it helps bird owners keep trying the right woods for their birds, cos like you, I’ve bought so many toys for mine over the years that hardly got touched. Glad it has helped ❤️ I'll definitely give cozy beaks a try!! Maybe as a Christmas present so I can save up for them as I know a lot of their toys are quite expensive due to the materials and being hand made. I'm so grateful more business are starting to sell toys like this!!

I use California Bird Nerds here in the States. I cannot express how frustrating it is trying to find toys for my little flock. My mulga demolishes the sola sticks and the parakeets decimate the mahogany pods. They've never been happier!

Definitely worth it! And they make great foraging toys as the little gaps in the sola are perfect for squeezing treats in!!

Fun video! Have you tried the groovy blocks? They are made of hard wood but with slots in them, which make them easier to tear apart by our pionuses. Bonzai (Bronze Wing) destroys them a bit (not much) from time to time and clearly prefers the sola sticks. However, Magik (our new Blue Headed) totally rips the groovy blocks apart.

I have tried them, my girls get frustrated with them. They bite off tiny chunks on the corners then give up. They really don't like the hard woods 😔 That's interesting that Magik enjoys hard wood more than bonzai. I wonder if their darker beak makes their beaks more tolerable to harder materials 🤔 just a thought. I may have to look into whether of not beak colour makes a difference to the strength and density of the beak.

@@GravySealNetwork Maxi used to be pretty common but they do seem to be far less popular compared to blue heads and white crowns. Which is a shame, as i prefer their larger size.
