The new generation RX’s exterior and interior design is so much better than the old version however, there must be something wrong with the craftsmanship and quality because I see so many 2023 models being sold as pre owned with low mileage at many dealerships. This was never the case when Lexus was made in Japan until 2022. The same goes for the NX250, NX350 and NX450.

@@Wisdom7I Where is the Lexus RX350 made? Ontario (TMMC) manufactures the Toyota RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid, Lexus RX 350, RX 350h and RX 500h as well as the Lexus NX and NX hybrid at three manufacturing facilities in Ontario. TMMC is the most awarded auto plant in the Americas and the second most awarded plant globally.
@Jeymez5 ай бұрын
i think Toyota decided it would be easier to just ship the parts, that way Toyota of Japan can focus on Lexus there, it's why they have more than one plant in the US. but you also have to consider, how cars are built in Japan versus here. i guarantee the RX is probably too big for their roads, but that's where the NX comes in. it's definitely smaller, the RX is also the biggest seller for Lexus here. now you're talking about quality, but i think it's pretty good. i don't know about the other stuff, but if their are some low used mile ones, some people might've returned them. i certainly wouldn't buy a vehicle that was returned that early, but also keep in mind, that some models were probably used for a review. it's not like we would know who had it, but that could explain some having low miles. there are alot of auto journalists out there these days, but not everybody gets their cars the same way, so who knows.
@johnthomas38633 ай бұрын
There is zero difference in build quality from Japan and anywhere else. Lexus keeps quality control under tight watch and conditions. They have a system they do not alternate from, plus every Lexus is inspected thoroughly before releasing to dealers. Let’s stop with the assumptions!!!!!

Great to see you were in California, where I am located in the San Luis Obispo area, I believe south of where you were test driving. I am driving a 2013 Subaru Outback Limited. Here is a challenging question --- Regarding midsize gas SUV's, like the AWD Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy and other similar fine-quality (or luxury) sized SUV's, what would you recommend for such an SUV that handles freeway driving as well "semi" off-road driving (dirt and gravel roads that may have some steep, bumpy, loose sections, requiring low speeds)? I have been very interested in the AWD Santa Fe Calligraphy, but my understanding is that it is not considered to be an off-road vehicle. Should I consider getting a new Outback, or will the Santa Fe Calligraphy or other SUVs do equally as well or better? Thank you.

I have a 2022 RX450h. On the tests ive seen no one mentions the infotainment system. I am very disappointed with my infotainment system. It is most frustrating with what it does badly. Also an irritation is that the cruise control allows overspeeding down hill causing me to brake which turns off cruise control. This is ridiculous because if i step down the set speed i can feel the car actively retard the speed but then it doesnt control it down hill. I like to use cruise control to stay within the many 30mph limits here but this could get me a ticket if i didnt notice. My Kia Sorento did this perfectly.

This car drives far better than a Toyota like the Venza. It has more personality, quieter, and speaks to you. 2) The engine has more horsepower than any of the Toyota products while giving you A LOT of fuel economy unlike its competitors in this segment. 3) Lexus has a 55% resale value after 5 years due to its engine reliability unlike the Germans who lose so much value just right after you drive out of the dealer. 4) What more do you expect from a car though? To be like the Batmobile? To have Iron Man’s suit capability?

Very nice review. Customers considering the hybrids should consider the time and mileage to recoup their increased investment. Also, with the global warming; oops, climate change hype they should consider the weight and complexity of the additional batteries and components that go into the car, must someday be recycled, and last but not least, the energy to remove the increased components and the large hole in the ground that will result. Having said that, the RX 350 and the GX 460 are on my short list. Thanks again!

Hybrids allow you to sit in the car and still have the AC or heat running without the engine running. The motor will only turn on the charge the battery. For this reason I only want hybrids. I work out of my car a lot.

Very well said! I sometimes get attacked when I point out the absurdity of hybrids yet the facts speak for themselves. Notwithstanding all that, the 500h has a much better power to weight ratio than the 350. It’s too bad they only offer it at the very top of the price range.
