Zack, Andrea does such a complementary job of delivering the technical points and also her sincere opinion on the cars that you test you should have an episode of presenting Andrea with a bouquet of Flowers thanking her for the Great Job that Andrea does every time. in Korea, we say 50% of the Range Rover on the road is on the way to the service centre and the other 50% is coming out of service centre. Awesome reliability. PHEV is much more expensive and it's not efficient when you don't fully charge overnight. Places like in Europe, it's attractive option for rich people because of low vehicle tax and convenience of parking (you can just park in EV spot and charge even if you don't need to) in in-city parking

I don’t like the usual lack of interior color and material choices, but give me one in green and I’ll drive it forever. Love the full sizes, can’t wait for the EV, it’ll be about what the best we can get from electric motors, comfort and performance and quietness, and more pollution in total than any v8 car out there.

I love love love the interior of this vehicle. It's a simple, timeless, blood pressure lowering escape. In a crazy fast paced world, the interior of this car hides you from it all. One thing I'd like to see different is the "U" on either side of the car where the door meets the front fenders. I find them distracting and interrupts the clean line of the car (perhaps not a problem on a darker paint colour). Everytime Z & A review a range rover I want to test drive one!

I have a Rav4 Prime and I've looked to see if there is a plug in hybrid that beats it at any price. The answer depends on your priorities. I wanted a PHEV that would be the best "electric car" possible. Most PHEV's, and the Land Rover falls into this category, have a fairly weak electric motor. It has range because of the large battery, but my smaller and lighter Prime has more electric horsepower. Now if you want combined horsepower of electric and gas then Volvo, BMW and land Rover have a lot more. But I'm satisfied with my 310 hybrid horsepower, in part because it's enough, but also because it's efficient. The new Volvo XC60 and this Land Rover have good range, but they are not nearly as efficient. This car has an MPGe of 51, I think, that's the number I found. My prime is 94. My Prime has an average MPG of about 36 on regular gas. I can't find the MPG of the 2023 land rover PHEV, but the 2022 model had an MPG of 19 on premium gas. I'm guessing your average Land Rover driver is not too concerned with the MPG or MPGe of their car, but I do think it kind of gets lost in all the talk of electric range. MPGe of 51 sounds high, but it's actually pretty low. These are lovely cars, but I don't think I could bring myself to drive one even if I could afford one. I'd go for the Lexus 450 h+ because it's the only luxury PHEV that is actually efficient. If you are really going off road then there are better options, but how many people really take these vehicles on anything worse than a few miles on a well maintained dirt road? Finally, I enjoy watching these two charming Canadians review cars. : )

Yeah I'd say you'd buy the PHEV version of this to increase the comfort and convenience of having one. As you know, driving in EV mode (especailly when you're in slow traffic) is more relaxing. Plus you have the convenience of being able to charge it at home so you reduce the number of times you need to go to a gas station. I dont think efficiency is a big selling point or consideration for buyers in this segment (other than maybe a token nod to looking like they are trying to be "green").
@ghenry85

I have a Rav4 Hybrid and I don't think I could justify the phev. My trip to work is a little more than 70kms and I can't plugin at work. The gas milage is fantastic and the performance is very easy to live with. If my commute to work was 20ish kms(one way and leaving a buffer for cold weather), the RAV4 Prime would be a very tempting option. It's price is competitive with full EVs of similar size but no range/charger anxiety. I do agree, efficiency would be in the calculation for a daily driver for me always.

@@peterfessier9780 It was 7000 in my area, and I got the Le hybrid(I didn't care about the extra features in the SE aside from the long ev range)and that was about half the price difference. But I'm happy thus far. If you run your ev battery out and ask the system to recharge the battery while driving, how long does it take(if it's possible to do so)?

If you can afford to lease a Range Rover, you can afford the fuel economy. V8 always the best application in those upper luxury SUV. PHEV, more or less likely, a compliant vehicle for government's fuel economy standard. Long live the V8. V8 First Edition is the one to lease. Even if I can afford one, I would only lease instead of own one.

I don’t see this new 2023 Range Rover doing very well. These days we’re being spoiled by all the luxury and high-tech in the Escalade. I’ve tried both and the Escalade is more stable and not as bouncy as this Range Rover. These days the Escalade is unrivaled with the level of integration with the flowing, beautiful 38 inch 4K OLED Screen and Super Cruise. Is just too easy to choose the superior technology of the Escalade. This new Range Rover is in need of a redesign interior wise, add an autonomous system get rid of all the slapped on screens and add better looking seats.

No there isn't one that exists with 150 km of EV range.

You didnt mention it but that ridge on the middle of the steering wheel is annoying. Chrysler and volvo does it and its just not comfortable to have that under you palm. Major flaw for the feel for the driver.

What you spend THAT much money on a car, I highly doubt the owner is going to care about fuel consumption. This PHEV makes absolutely zero sense at all. Also, this one uses SO much electricity in EV mode, it makes its EV mode actually MORE expensive than driving a smaller SUV using gas.

First, from a design standpoint, the horseshoe on the front doors is a deal breaker for me. Just seems like design for the sake of design. Secondly, is it just me or has Land Rover dash aesthetics not changed in a decade? It's nice, but kind of feels dated from the outset.

Nothing wrong with design for the sake of design. At this price point I expect some extra for the sake of extra no? Agree with you on the not changing for decades

The horseshoe probably wouldn't be as noticeable on a darker colour paint. I agree tho. What is its purpose? Scrap it.

I believe the connected gill or horseshoe represents the Autobiography edition. As RR currently is removing badges it's a way to identify it.
