The first time I saw the Kicks while visiting my local dealership, I thought that they had a winner, design wise. I presently own a 2023 Qashqai, bought used around 3 months ago. Prior to that, I had an 18 Qashqai that we took on a 12K trip to Eastern Canada and back this past August. I have only good things to say about these cars. I don't mind the CVT transmission. If a person does the recommended maintenance, they should work fine, IMHO. I enjoy the 23 model over the 18 one more because it is a bit quieter and has memory driver's seat, automatic high and low beam thanks to a camera mounted on the center top of the windshield.

Style is all it really needed; and a bit more power. The 2.4l is naturally aspirated; far better than the 1.2/1.3 liter turbos of most of its competition. Nissan, even now in its worst times, has never made crappy engines; their engines are still among the most reliable in the entire market. It has enough torque now to get out of its own way; yes the CVT is a problem----can't argue with that----but most of its competitors use them too so is it really a disadvantage? I think it will sell well for Nissan; if they can survive long enough to move them.

@Snerdles8 күн бұрын
The E-Power stuff really isn't doing all that well because it's nowhere near as efficient as a parallel hybrid. As it turns out, running an engine to spin a motor to charge a battery to extract that power to spin a motor to drive the wheels is less efficient than just driving the wheels with the engine.
@GoOp7908 күн бұрын
@@Snerdlesiv heard it phenomenal in city driving but getting it on the highway does worse than a regular ICE. Doesn’t sound like that will work well in the US
@Snerdles8 күн бұрын
@GoOp790 it's worse than a parallel hybrid in every case. Just go look at the Mitsu Outlander PHEV vs a RAV4 Prime/plugin. The Mitsu has only a single gear that can only engage at high speed so if what you heard is true the city MPG of the Outlander should be just a little less than the RAV4 (since it's bigger, but should be 'phenomenal' as you say)... But that's just not the case. The Outlander is a gas hog in comparison and actually isn't really much better than the straight up gas Outlander when in hybrid mode.
@Flying-Fox198 күн бұрын
