I actually kinda dont like the glossy touch capacitive buttons for climate controls. More distracting while driving especially at night than having physical buttons and knobs in my opinion, and will get scratchy and dirty as well. Also.. The manual seat adjustments and the manual steering wheel adjustment is actually a plus considering the size of a little crossover and the pricepoint. Overall.. i really like the new Kicks. Nissan has been doing this for a while - offering all the features of a luxury car for cheap - but they have a fatal flaw in their CVT transmissions. I bought a 2017 Maxima - it had everything I could want for $27,000 brand new. Big enging, fun to drive, and every feature under the sun. The transmission started going 6 years later and if you look online it's a known Nissan problem. It was a fun 6 years, but when I buy a flagship Japanese car, I expect over 10 years out of it. Get less features and styling and stick with Honda/Toyota or their related luxury brands.

@@TheHuskyK9 they chose the worst possible cvt years ago. People are recommending fluid changes every 40,000 miles. That’s a waste. And negates any fuel savings. My Volvo has an Aisin 6 speed and I didn’t even change the fluid until 125,000 miles and it keeps going. A cvt would have blown by then without a fluid exchange. Their Cvt is a horrible driving experience. Google the amount of failures they have on those, especially in the beginning. Nissan deserves every bit of bad reputation they have. And you can’t really rebuild those. So when they blow your looking at $5000 on a car, that’s not worth it by people that don’t have a lot of money. My friend tried to sell his Nissan Murano that had a new transmission put in at 100,000 miles and the new car dealer where he went would not even take it on trade. He said nobody wants these I think he offered him a grand out of pity

Aaaaahh ...! They put the cruise control exactly where it belongs, under the driver's thumb! BMW, Mercedes, Rolls, Cadillac, Ford, and many others - even Toyota - ALSO put the CC under the driver's thumb. Porsche and Bentley think it is unimportant, less important than "the telephone", and relegate it, unhappily to a companion to a windshield-wiper wand.

I was hoping that Nissan would at least make their transmissions more reliable, especially as of recent years due to the bad reputation they have (made by Jatco). 15-20 years ago, most of their vehicles have CVT transmissions (which weren't reliable compared to Hondas and Toyotas). You'd think after all this time they would either improve the build quality of CVTs or switch back to conventional automatics. If they were to troubleshoot the issues, the Sentra/Versa/Altima would be good, econobox alternatives to their competitors, a conventional automatic on the Maxima would make it enjoyable, and their crossovers would able be competitive. I'm not sure if Nissan were able to address the transmission issues that plagued older models on their current crop of vehicles, though.

No fan of crossovers but this is pretty nice. Styling is New Era Nissan but it works and has some muscular flow. I think a Turbo motor would be wise. At least 180-220hp. Just give it some punch in a higher model. Say SR-V or some such .

I'm gonna be real, I kinda love that it skimps out on things like power seats or the homelink thing or whatnot if the excuse for these cars being so disgustingly overpriced now is the technological advancements in things like the screens and driving tech, I can accept that at a lower price point if the caveat is I have to adjust my seat manually, something I do maybe one time a year.

I hate Nissans with a passion. I think they are unreliable trash these days, and its sad because I remember 30 years ago when they were pretty good cars. HOWEVER, I think this is a better car than the last generation, and I really want to see smaller, (relatively speaking) cheaper cars make a comeback. I am past the point of my life where that is the kind of car I am shopping for, but my sons are both at that age where they are starting to look for their first real "good" cars - a few years old or a new one. Nissan has an uphill battle though - I think my kids hate Nissans more than I do. It's really kind of hard when cars like the Corolla or hell the Corolla Cross, Civic, etc, exist.

One thing to mention thst i though was interesting is that most Of its competitors come with at least a 12 or 13 gallon tank with only the Subaru cross track being an outlier as it comes with a 16 gallon tank, which is pretty large for a small car. However, the kicks comes only within 11 gallon tank, which will mean you'll pay a A little less at the pump, but also means you may have to visit it more-often.
