@@stevefisher2553 here is the thing. Cars are meant to be driven not only in the city limits, people do drive , travel on long distances or in my case Iam a delivery driver that do about 100 miles each day. And I did drive from Kansas to California and at highway speeds at 70mph I lost about 60 miles of range from 250 to 190 miles for a 80% charge at 3.2miles per kw. Also since it’s winter time right now my rage sites at 190 instead of 250 miles. So at minimum 300 should be the standard or higher charge speeds like over 150 kw instead of like 50-100 kw

I see the biggest problem is living in cold climate like here in the north east parked outside losing range just from freezing cold temperatures. Solid state batteries are around the corner that will triple the range of today’s EV’s which will make today’s EV’s obsolete really quick.

#1 The Tesla Model 3 Highland is going to cause prices of current Model 3 on the market to plummet. #2 The heated/ventilated seats and ambient lighting is EXACTLY what this car needed. #3 I don't care about the rear display screen. I'd prefer they be on the headrests. #4 The REDESIGNED MODEL Y IS MORE IMPORTANT. It's going to REALLY blow up in sales. Even when the Redesigned Y causes current Y prices to plummet, many people will buy those up too. It's a very good car. #5 TESLA really screwed up with the Model X. I'm willing to bet those "doors" on it are the main reason many people don't want to buy it and buy a Model Y instead when money isn't a problem. I am a Tesla shareholder and I want Tesla to GO TO THE MOON!

I just took delivery on a Cadillac Lyriq AWD Luxury 3. Beautiful car. Wonderful to drive. Feels like a Mercedes E-class Estate almost - or possibly - a better car than the Audi E-tron Sportback. Really excited for the Escalade iQ. Really excited for the Celestiq. But $300,000??? That's stupid. Celestiq should be the "Car version" of the Lyriq. It shouldn't be more than $80,000.
@moreybrown870
@moreybrown870 11 ай бұрын
I keep coming back to look at the lyriq. it's so much more car (features/luxury) than a Tesla- for a very reasonable price for what you get. Not sure I can bring myself to driving a "caddy". Doesn't fit the image of how I see myself. I could see myself in the Blazer EV (same platform), but the Lyriq is so much nicer and can to 3,500 (which I need). Hope you have good luck with it. I definitely want to see GM succeed. Even though they're probably losing their shirt on every Lyriq for now.

Whoa Alex, Alpine is a new company coming to Europe ????? Alpine is a historically important French brand since 1955 when it had considerable success in rallying across Europe. In recent years it launched the Alpine A110 which is a Cayman rival. The car you are highlighting here is, I think, their sportier version of the upcoming electric Renault 5.

Was this video taken sometime in late November last year and you forgot to upload it or what ? I have to comment on a few things: 5:01 Alpine is not a new brand. It's just a fashionable Renault that dates back to the second half of the last century. They're just a newcomer to the electric car segment, this particular car is their version of the Renault 5 E-Tech. 9:25 The full specs of the car have been out for a few weeks now. Only the price hasn't been announced yet. It's not based on the previous gas car, but there will be on the new architecture. The STLA Medium platform, the smaller 73 kWh pack and the larger 98 kWh of usable energy with a relatively slow charging rate with a peak of 160 kW. Sales are expected to start this February in Europe. 10:51 The full specifications are available and the car is already in the configurator in several markets. 11:50 They have recently renamed themselves, but still operate in some European markets under the former #Ssangyong name. 20:00 The car is already on the road. @BatteryLife owns it and has a whole series of videos about it. You really haven't done your homework properly this time.

In the US it's going to be hard to get folks to buy any EV with a CCS plug what with NACS coming next year. That combined with loss of tax credit and Tesla having new products it's going to be a tough year. New form factors and wow specs might create some sales.

A classic example of just how far behind the US is compared to Europe. The US are getting electric Ram, Jeep & Cadillac, now that sounds like a recipe for failure. When will the car manufacturers work out that the last 20% of a battery is unusable and, if in a cold region you lose 30% battery which equals half the quoted range gone at mile one, the 200 mile offerings are totally pointless.

I own 2EV cars, Chevrolet bolts. these cars work great when the weather is nice. Although charging is still an issue. I have 2 charging stations at home. But during the day when I drive and have to charge. There are limited stations plus the amount of time it takes to charge. Unless something is done with the range and the charging capability of these cars, the foreseeable future of electric cars is very dim. Plus the range in 20 degree weather is reduced to 50%. Don't be fooled by these people saying 20 t0 30%. I have been driving ev for over 6 years. Almost 300 k miles. It's 50% in below freezing weather.

There is also a high turnover of companies in this segment, and dozens of them have gone out of business after only a few years of sales because they were entirely dependent on government subsidies. The Indian EV market is based on two-wheelers that will never make it to Europe or the US, and only Tata makes EV cars in larger numbers, but it focuses on the local market, and to keep the price down they only have air-cooled motors and batteries, no heat pump, and peak DC charging is under 60 kW.

A bit less than 20% range loss including one full night parked at -15 without ever connecting to a plug. Total of 250km drive in Laurentian Montains. The car is 2.5 years old and the range loss is calculated in comparison to the officially declared range when purchased new. That means that the actual range loss is probably considerably less. Anything else you would like to hate on?

Wow! So many EV’s coming out! If these things sell somewhat decent, just in the United States alone, there will be power outages all over in large cities equipped with them. The United States energy grid just cannot handle so many EV’s in operation. They’re going to have to install coal burning plants and natural gas plants on every corner in each city just to try and keep up enough electricity to power these monstrosities!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Whatever range manufacturers promise, knock off 30-40% if you plan to drive in the winter where it's cold and you need to keep the heater on to keep from freezing to death. Conversely, if you live where it's hot and a/c is a must, knock down the range as well. Of course, this will depend how cool you want to remain.

Right, I'm selling for what I bought here. Some of these models don't have specs out yet because they are almost a year out still.

That would level the playing field with the imports from Korea, Europe, and Viet Nam; and Japan if they ever decide to build any. It would also piss off the car companies and UAW. So I don't see it happening. Once you start spending taxpayer dollars it's almost impossible to turn off the valve.

too expensive in general, the few affordable options are underwhelming, even for the price, I think the Chinese offerings in that arena are more impressive such as MG EZS, Baojun Yueye, BYD Seagull, Dongfeng E1 all of which are almost a third of the cheapest one on this list, and the traditional ICE companies are all trying to copy the Tesla playbook by offering premium cars first whilst ignoring the tesla first mover advantage in cornering that market segment, but they are ignoring the affordable segment, that is why their sales are so low, there are only so many rich people even in America, whoever conquers the affordable segment will blast the competition out of the water, which ironically might still be Tesla at this stage, and most of these companies will still go bankrupt. too little too late, not impressive enough to set them apart from Tesla, I think only Rivian and Lucid are real competition at this stage, the traditional ICE companies transitioning are still too old timey in their attitudes, not everyone wants a giant expensive SUV with middling range, what are their full self driving offerings, where is their superior battery/charging/can they act as battery for your home solar etc. If you are not beating Tesla in some key demographic you are going to get left overs in the market
