When I've been fortunate enough to tag along on a boat with a fish finder I find myself fascinated by it. Went on a trip on the Mississippi with some guys that had a very nice sonar with side scanning and such amazing detail that I think I spent over half the time just watching structure and water depths. When I get a boat it's getting a nice sonar if I have sell my blood plasma to afford it.lol

What ryan found was a scraper for tanning hides. Well used one. My grandfather back in the would have went into that brush pile with a stringer and came out with every flathead in there lol. That makes sense. It definitely had the look of man's influence, but I wasn't sure what kind of tool it was. Thats the thing about the full moon. The flatheads don't seem to roam as much and it lets the channel rats branch out a little more. I would have got a kick out of watch your grandpa do the old hand shopping😁 I'm with ya on the politics, I was almost with ya on sports. I haven't had enough blues to have an opinion on those vs channels. Bullheads are excellent, but WAY better if you catch 'em in the spring when the water is cooler.

It was probably a snell. My favorite knot for heavy line if I'm not using a snell. 4 turns in 60 lb line and cinch it tight.
