I truly envy the inner clarity of the INTJ. I think every INTP secretly desires to be able to look at their world model and just say "Meh! Good enough", and run with it to pursue long-term goals. But we simply can't take a single step forward until the "puzzle is completed". To us, "goals" are the ultimate distraction, ironically.

That's alright because at least you can Solve everything then us XNXJ's gonna go act upon it. I think Se and action orientation in general is so heavily valued in our society. But if you have someone who can provide direction to others or an Organisation, based on logical systems then that's very valuable. Just gotta find the right person you can share the idea's with.

xNTP and xNTJ symbiosis: xNTP provides choices in a multiple choice question that xNTJ will answer. Or xNTJ provides one important thing (idea, problem, stuff, etc) then the xNTP will poke things around it until a fresh perspective or unique solution is finally synthesized with the thing. Scenario: xNTJ has a goal -> xNTP gives a plan -> xNTJ is silent -> xNTP gives more plans -> xNTJ points out one interesting idea -> xNTP refutes, defends, or synthesize it with another idea called idea-branching -> xNTJ points another interesting idea -> xNTP doing idea-branching again -> Then, xNTJ finally makes a decision.

I normally don't nitpick but I dislike your argument is conceptually wrong. Quantum Mechanics is completely logical. There is almost nothing macroscopically we can NOT know with quantum mechanics, provided we have time to solve the messy equations. However, what you should have said is that the structure of universe itself may not be logical to be represented by some math symbols or simulations elegantly in an accurate way. This is the problem with high level physics. Almost all physicists have a lot of ideas they simply THINK is the best way to model universe but it need not really. Sorry if I am sounding harsh but hope I corrected your knowledge. :) PS: I am no physicist either and so I don't know if I am accurate about the details but then, I think that this is the current state of physics.

@@kairostimeYT you are technically correct -- Quantum Mechanics does have logic, but it seems to have its own style: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_logic I still like my analogy :)
@kairostimeYT
@kairostimeYT 3 жыл бұрын
@@LazerPotatoe -I swear though, it would have taken me months to find out that such a thing even exists.- My argument is different though. Yes, such a thing called "quantum logic" can exist but it's just a proper noun; just a name. But then, *everything* physical can be described by mathematics. Mathematics derives from first principles and everything in mathematics is proven rigorously, provided some axioms. Hence, everything is logical. Just hear my idea out: Mathematics is basically the tool shed and physics (heck everything) uses tools math provides. Universe isn't inherently logical but we like having an order or a structure so that things are understandable. As long as some information about a system exists, you can interpolate or extrapolate insights out of the system. That's how everyone thinks and comes to a conclusion, no matter how ingenious or ridiculous it is. It's just that people use right/wrong tools to interpret a situation for approaching a conclusion. It all comes down to making sense of the pure data (Si) or polished data (Ni) you are presented with. Actually this is also why in a lot of IT companies or game development companies, finding the best algorithm and understanding the problem/mechanics well is far tougher than writing the code itself because the code basically takes the role of math. You find INTJs intriguing probably because they understand the mechanics way too quickly than most other people. Again, I don't have anything against your analogy. In fact, it's correct but quantum mechanics requires logic to process. So based on how you seem to define logic, I guess, this should help you get my point. :D

This was so refreshing! Add to what Nichola said, yes planning is fun and it's very fun when things go as you planned or when stuff happen exactly as you predicted. So an INTJ, I've thought how many more years I have to live (I'm still 17 btw) and I've built my plan prioritizing where I see myself at the end of my life. It's because the uncertainty of life kinda scares me. I wish I can be little more relaxed and enjoy the present moment but I look at my life as a responsibility so I have to do my best and be the best person I can be.

Organizing/ refining my thoughts and my hypotheses here haha - Plan I think everybody plans, but for Te is more like, "yes I want to see the result hence I plan" and the Ni in NTJ makes the planning more long term. Moreover, the Se in NTJ also makes them more flexible when it comes to fine turning their plans in order to reach the long term goals. Contrary to NTJ, NTP is not that into planing because Ne-Si + Ti-Fe no Te nor Ni. Gosh I feel like NTP + E 9w8 would be the most "I just exist and no need to plan" types ever hahahaha like here to explore thoughts and have logical systems refine so like Spacey said, they can just autopilot (this is kinda 9 quality too) and live one day at a time. (Side note: I think NFP and NFJ may like planing more than NTP because we either have Te or Ni, we just plan for different reasons and carry out plans differently. NJ more likely to follow through) - Vision vs. dream First I feel the need to define them before adding the functions into the consideration. I guess they are different in the sense of vision will be something you want to create plans to manifest and dream is something you want in the future, you may work toward it yet how to get it is not as forceful or concrete as planing. So for NTJ in my option will be the most vision focus types. That Ni+Te. Impressive. I hope I have Ni lol - What if I think the reason of why NTJ use "what if"to refer inwardly and NTP refer outwardly is the Fi Ti difference? Hmmm. I think it depends on the context though and what function is used to "what if". I think this generally apply to every functions like if we use "what if" in the sense of Te, then this will like Nii's point, he uses "what if" the see if there's the better way to do things. Ne "What if" to entertain all the different weird/ useless/ endless thoughts lol. Se "what if" sensing experience and facts. Mixing things together, creating different sensing activities, etc. Fe "what if" contemplating social situation to prevent chaos and potential disharmony? or using it to find the common ground. Ti "what if" to refine their system. Fi "what if" to sharpen their values and identity??? For me, is like using what if questions to further understand myself. Si "what if" ... does si do what if? maybe what if i did that, maybe it would be different now? so try to ponder the internal sensing experience and see how it could be different. Ni "what if" okay I am really not sure about this one.... I guess, "what if I miss some details or facts to conclude it too soon?" kinda connect to se? I find introverted functions are harder to describe when it comes to "what if". They always so hard to describe, darn it. These three topics really helped me understand the difference of Ni-Se vs Ne-Si and Ti-Fe vs Te-Fi or at least my own guesses of how they manifest and why lol Thanks for the awesome talk as always! Another essay for the day. Can I get an A please 🥺

@@Slippernips hi spacey!!! I’m 9w8 and yes it’s hard to tell between 9w1 and 9w8 sometimes and some people think we all have both wings. But I think there’s a tendency to lean towards one over the other. I guess 9w8 is more laidback and not want to plan than 9w1 is because 8s more focuses on autonomy and is aggressive vs. 1s is compliant and focuses on morals and integrity. So how laidback the 1s are depends on what they believe I guess lol. And 8s tend to be more laidback when they reach their ideal of autonomy? But now when I think about it more, I do have both, but I don’t tend to force my moral ideas on people or expect people to be certain way since they are their own individuals (fi & 8 plays together, and the 9 in me wants more perspectives and build bridges) however, integrity is something extremely important to me. (Fi & 1?) Let’s just say every words coming out of my mouth is fi related 😆 because they are 😆 exception -> when I’m Ne-Te playing

Push my thoughts even further. Since Ti more focuses on logical consistency, the Ti users E1s’ integrity will more likely to be in the thinking realm instead of actually doing something. Especially Ti higher up. It’s beautiful combination though in my opinion! Because what you guys discovered will be truly valuable and have pure logical backup hence useful and sustainable. It is something that I admire!

@@Youshouldchill I think one consistent difference between 9w1 and 9w8 that helped me decide is that the 1 wing tends to make you more self-critical when failing to meet certain idealistic standards of truth or justice, etc, whereas the 8 wing is more "laid back" in every way, not caring as much about being judged and not judging themselves very often.

From what I've learned, it's more productive if you partner up (or at least emulate) with your perfect match type: ENTJ for INTP and ENTP for INTJ. This is basically due to how we are forced to grow through some sort of symbiosis with our shadow types. It's like a Jedi and a Sith finding common ground with one another; trying to live and learn from each other, while not losing thr identity and basis in life (from NT types we called it rationality and logic). So yes, you are definitely right. Hearing alternative perspectives from other types can help us develop as a person. It's just that there are some things that we can't give up easily so the "perfect match" type solves that for us.

I'm an INFP 7w6 and I "what if" the future so that I can come up with loose future backup plans just in case. I do "what if" the past but rarely externalize it because when I see other people do it my response is always "why would you dwell on that--- out loud?" I will, however, what if the past in order to provide/acknowledge a lesson without actually having to go through it. For example, if I am driving and notice that I was inches away from doing something dangerous, I will acknowledge the repercussions if I had reacted differently. It's like putting a sticky note in a book so that I remember to be more aware of the note later. I also will find myself thinking of how the grand scheme of things would be different based on one choice. What iffing the past isn't necessarily fun, but I guess I use it as a safe way to find lessons/contentment in the little things.

Personally (INTJ), my joy comes from inception to completion. I love having the idea, solving the problems, identifying resources, and ultimately seeing the thing through. I too love chess and it encompasses that process fully. I don't know if planning is explicitly what I enjoy, but I do enjoy tacking the pieces together that I had to find thoughtfully for a plan. If it's mundane, I'm a little bored with it (thus I don't think planning itself is what I'm about exactly). My favorite is dealing in abstracts and finding roots or concrete fundamentals that work together in surprising ways. Personally, I need a blend of thought and tactile elements with a thread of theme to really feel sated by an experience. Like, working on a circuit board from a diagram wouldn't do it, unless the circuit board was part of a larger machine that then produced the answer to life (which, of course, is 42). I got to hit the Ni and Te to be happy, and to be fulfilled, the Se too.

@@JoyceMeng22 To make it feasible it's important to address some key points: (1) the problem must be simple to solve, (2) you must have little work giving the needed information and (3) the problems must be aligned with the functions. Because of these, I suggest to give a problematic situation someone lived (historical figure or fictional character) and ask what they believe could be the best decision, and what should have been taken in consideration. Now I'll address the reason why this solves key: 1. It's about only one decision, so you wouldn't need complex reasoning, it's up to you how much effort you put into it. 2. It's about a public known situation, there's no need to come up with data for both sensing and intuitive functions. If someone wants a specific kind of information they can search it by themselves. 3. You can separete the problem to emphasize any situation. You can give a battle situation for thinkers or a moral dilemma for feelers. As an additional tip, I would say these problems could be given beforehand, to give the time necessary for the introverted functions.

Nii reminded me of the trial-and-error approach that extraverted functions tend to have, not just Te. I think when any of us use our top extraverted function we're not afraid to look incompetent 🤣. Could be a cool shortcut for when we feel held back by perfectionism. As an introvert I see Fe, Ne, Te, Se as being open to dealing with disconnected things whether it be emotions, ideas, logic, or facts and work it out externally, which usually means with our around other people (a nightmare for me). And introverted functions bring them to focus. Personally, I'll "talk it out" when it comes to ideas but not my feelings. If the ideas are closely connected to my feelings..then I may never talk 😂.

I wondered what the 'wing' thing was in personality, so I looked it up. Enneagram is an interesting alternative theory to mbti. I took the test on a couple of different sites, and tested as a 5W6 on both. The descriptions of 5 and 6 were interesting. The Wing idea is a clever way to try to understand that people's personalities don't conform to ridgid definitions. I've seen videos about MBTI having 'subtypes', which is another way of getting at that. The only truth is what exists physically. Everything else is perception, opinion, theory, politics, feelings, etc. about what exists. I can tell who the Es and the Is are without the captions because the Es are doing most of the talking. Joyce sometimes has to ask them questions directly to keep them in the conversation. She's a very good moderator. I have never been comfortable with playing games against other people, especially in person. I'd rather play against the A.I. of a computer or console or choose your own adventure book game. That way, my opponent is predictable and I can find the patterns. Also, I can't hurt the A.I.s feelings, or get into an arguement with it or vice versa. I am in control in these situations and that feels good. I used to have concrete plans for the future, but all of them have fallen apart, so right now, I don't have any plans anymore. It's depressing and stressful. I wish that I was more naturally free wheeling. I currently am a freelance writer, editor and consultant. If only I was less driven to obsessivly plan, I would be enjoying this kind of work more. I enjoy science fiction because I, too think about the 'what if's' all the time, both in the immediate and long distance future. I think that's why we NTs are seen as being able to predict the future. I'll read or watch scifi and then continue to think about it if I found the story interesting. I'm the type who sometimes writes 'fan fiction', or at least gets into debates with other fans about what happens next in the story, or what 'should' have happened. As a writer, I find that the need to write a story, or looking for inspiration for a story, all the reason I need to think about any given topic or genre. I think my wife is an ENTP. Our NT aspects help us get along very well. She is more outgoing and in tune with the here and now than I am.

@@i3ignorantidelweb43 I am, and always have been, very introverted, but just in case: I have 9/10 signs for the first video, 6/11 for the second one, and none for the last one. I also don't think it's helpful for anyone to gatekeep introversion, and most of the traits of ambiverts apply main to introverts. The gist of what I understand as introversion is that it's a cognitive preference towards a subject's internal world, while extroversion is a cognitive preference towards a subjects external world, which causes(or might be caused by, I'm not sure) an increase of energy when time is spent alone and in company respectively. Anything further to add to this, as far as I see, must be established either empirically or logically following from the definition I gave, if itself can be proven to be true.

Hey Joyce, can I come with a request? I would like how different personality types relate to reprogramming your mind (on a deep level, like altering your world view, etc). Is it something they do? I am constantly and very intentionally working on reprogramming my mind (I will for instance expose myself to different series from different cultures in order for me to expand my perspective and understand other peoples perspective more, so when I meet these people, I'm not biased towards them). I am also reprogramming my mind from getting past my childhood traumas in order for me to participate in a healthy relationship (through therapy, you can't reprogram a trauma body and brain by yourself; you won't see all of your blindspots). I sort of see it as a way of manipulating myself indirectly towards a goal by reprogramming my worldview and enabling me to take action further down the line (which is a classic way of postponing action, I know). How many intuitives does this form of actively working with their own mind? I often compare it to the form of self manipulation the protagonist does in the movie Memento (without ending up hurting ppl of course....😁)

For what i know from experience and studying as an entp . Every functions is about awareness so the higher your functions is the more aware you are of it. Ni/Se= "the best line of action"(Ni) with the "details"(Se) that i a have observe and at what conclusion can we arrive or direction is going. It's more like a bunch of Se details and observation transforms into one singular best line of fit.So high Se users observe as many details and what others a doings right now and try as many things to be sure of the most optimal line of action for themselves but high Ni create in their head the best line of action from all the details and what others are doing right now. Ni=Own future,passion,desire Se=reality, Physical,performance Ne/Si= it's a never ending spider web of abstract patterns.It's more like from what i know/have experience(Si) what can we do ? (Ne). It's like the saying "what is happened before may happen again" So Ne users create/warn outcomes and use self discipline as a way to make it happen or avoid it like the saying "orders = outcomes ". So the more you know the more your able to provide warning and ideal outcomes and create some kind of system to reach it . So high Si users stick to what they know already and use " common sense " to avoid any unpredictable outcome " what should i do (Si) if this happen (Ne)? So high Ne is "what if this happen (Ne)? What should i do (Si)? Ne=possible, collectif future,abstract patern. Si=self-dicipline,body,past experience,comfort.
