3:28 okay there is a reason why this is. During the “creamer making process” they remove a protein called casein to make it non-dairy. Casein is something in milk that most people are allergic to, but it doesn’t remove the lactose which is why they legally have to disclaim that it has milk. It is still technically non-dairy because it lacks the casein but they have to tell you it’s made with milk if that makes sense.

Some people think hypoallergenic animal means hairless or less shedding but that’s not always the case, it just means they don’t have the allergen protein in their dander. So you gotta be transparent. In the case of the milk, it’s like saying it’s hypoallergenic milk, but because lactose intolerance (and veganism) aren’t about protein allergies, they need to know that the product is in fact milk and contains lactose. (Or if you’re vegan, you need to know it’s still animal based.)

5:30 for the McDonald's permissions, I have a few theories as to why they would legit need those permissions: Camera: for scanning QR codes and other stuff; Location: to identify the closest restaurant, especially since this may impact the availability of products; Storage: lots of apps do that for downloading and storing assets during use instead of releasing a new version of the app. Worth nothing the way recent Android phones work, storage permission doesn't give access to all files necessarily, unless you manually allow it; Phone is the only one I don't see any potentially legit use other than using it as an ID.

I've run into an AH desgin at work. I work with newsletters via email and when constructing them, I need to upload the files/images into the program that we use. The "Choose image [in the folder]" button is WHITE, small and at the bottom of the pop-up window. It's also the option furthest to the right, after "Cancel" and "Crop image". The McDonalds app does actually have a use for camera access - its for some of the limited events they do where you scan in physical code tickets. Don't understand the others, but I'm pretty sure a few of the permissions it asked for were so it could auto launch over the top of other fast food apps, something that is apparently a 'bug' but still occurs quite often.

That ticketmaster pop-up isn't coming after someone for going alone. It's coming after you because people typically buy tickets in at least pairs, so it will be nearly impossible to sell a single seat.

Yeah, if you buy a single seat that is either directly next to someone or has two or more free seats to either side, you should not get an alert. Not sure how ticket master specifically handles this, but that's how it's usually done. If no suitable single seats are left, you might want to try again later. Seats are reserved for a limited time while you enter your data. If someone doesn't go through with their order, the tickets are re-released after ca. 15 minutes. Also, at least with smaller productions that don't have a full house every night, you might actually get a pretty significant discount on orphaned pairs of seats when you book last minute: often up to 50 %, which means that for the original price of one ticket, you can either book two seats and leave one empty, or take a friend along effectively for free.
