Quick note! The reason you shouldn't eat raw cookie dough isn't actually because of the eggs, it's because of the flour. If you ever look at a bag of flour, it straight up tells you that it's not ready to eat and needs to be cooked in order to get rid of bacteria that might be in it.

Could it be because of both? Because I’m pretty sure raw egg is not good for you anyway.

@cypress82689 ай бұрын
@@3333EEEErawr The main risk for salmonella occurs when you crack the egg, as bacteria on the outside can get inside. However, the sanitation process most eggs go through makes this very unlikely. And while some eggs will have internal contamination, even this is rare, especially nowadays. So while you can get sick from raw eggs, it's more likely to be the flour that does it.

When I was a little kiddo, before we females were allowed to have our own credit cards (ie, the 1970's), I had one of those "school photo" books that you could put your school pic for each grade in, and there were spaces for awards and a handwriting sample of the kid at each year, along with a checklist of what you wanted to be when you grew up at that point in time. There were separate lists for boys and girls. The boys had things like "fireman", "astronaut", "policeman," "doctor," etc, and the girl list was "mother," "teacher", "nurse", and "actress." I invariably chose actress. I think I have the thing lurking around on a bookshelf somewhere. And a boyfriend that reads books is a girlfriend??? bullhockey. When I first dated my husband, I knew I'd found "the one" because: a) his houseplants were healthy and b) he had a lot of the same books on his shelf as I did. He also shoveled the snow away from in front of his apartment complex's mailbox on our first date, but that's another story. What really gets me is the idea that all women (or all men) are alike - instead of being (gasp!) individuals who all have differing tastes, ideas, opinions, and goals, regardless of gender. I'm so glad that the world is waking up and moving away from the gendered nonsense of my youth. Oh, and fun fact: in the 19th century, pink - at least that strong fuchsia that we now all recognize as "Barbie pink" - was considered the "boy" color, and blue was considered the girl color, because it was "softer". So there's a thought.

I'm a woman in my 60s. I had frustrating skin issues for decades. Then I found out that the vast majority of soap brands aren't _soap._ It's _detergent._ Detergent is comparatively bad for your skin, as it strips your skin of all the oils, leaving your skin dirt-free... But the lack of skin oil for hours leaves it vulnerable to environmental microbes. I kept getting nasty skin breakouts and rosaceae from hell. Then I tried...soap. I heard that olive oil soap didn't strip the oils. The marketing department "greasy film" on your skin was clean fat from the soap, which had removed the dirty oil and replaced it with a clean and fresh layer, chock full of vitamins, and the new coating of natural plant oil is _waterproof,_ keeping your skin clean and soft. I had initially bought fancy Aleppo Olive Oil soap. Then i found that Greece also makes olive oil soap, but it's not a specialty product, it's just _soap._ I bought a big bag, 6-250 gram double sized bars. Which lasted for over a year. I washed my entire body with it. No special face soap and body wash. I even washed my hair with it. It left my hair and scalp so clean it squeaked, bouncy and with more body than I'd ever experienced. And even with regular use, that 1,500 gram bag of soap bars lasted a year and a half. I bought some individual bars from several brands, some in the big, double sized bars, sometimes a dozen 125 gram "standard" sized bars. My favorite brand is Papoutsanis, but the "Kiss My Face" brand was nice, too. Now, my hair is wonderful, I'm clean and free of nasty breakouts on my face, and I still don't use the detergent bars the marketing companies taught us we had to use. I don't use modern shampoo, either, for the same reasons. I use Papoutsanis olive oil soap. I get the bag of 12 -125 gram bars for around $20-25. I bought the last bag in 2022. Price went up to $25, but everything got more expensive. I use a conditioner called "Mane & Tail", originally made for horses. It's just to keep my hair from floating like a cloud. It's great conditioner. A small drop on wet hands, rubbed together and gently massaged into the dry hair, is soft, clean, and manageable. The plain soap I get has no scent. No perfume. Inexpensive and works great. I draw the like at Lava soap unless I've been working on something greasy.

"Guys" is weird. It's almost only ever gender neutral when it's used in the second person plural as a form of direct address, like "hey guys, what's up?" But if you use it in almost any other context it immediately sounds like youre referring to a men-only group: "Me and the guys are going out tonight." "Yeah I saw them. It was a group of guys." Like, in the absence of direct confirmation that one of the individuals referenced is a woman, the base assumption is almost always that it's just men

In case anyone is still interested about the origin of "Cockpit": It appears to have nautical origins as the term originally reffered to the area of the ship where the "Cockswain" (or pilot) was located. The word "Cockswain" itself is the english term for "Boat Servant" (Combining the French Word "Coque" for Shell with the old english word for "Boy" or "Servant").

Explaining the bike frames: It was at one point about “women’s bikes” being designed to fit a dress more easily, but these days it’s supposed to be called a “step-through” frame. As for the ones with the top bar, the top bar exists for two reasons: 1. Bike people fear things changing too quickly (this is most relevant on cheap commuter bikes) 2. The top bar does make it stronger, which is helpful for high performance applications like BMX or MTB, where there are frequent hard landings. It’s also helpful to cut weight because triangles are incredibly strong relative to weight. Finally, it also makes sense on cargo bikes designed for heavy loads.

Wider to prevent getting trapped between cars, well-lit to prevent an ambush in the dark, and near the door for quick escape and access. It was one of the few things I still agreed with during my brief anti-feminism phase, though I always felt that should be the standard for all parking spaces, not just "Women Only" spaces.
