Did almost same Tuesday in league 215-200 switched to earlier roll ball. First 8 slow speed, split, ten pin, strike 672 lowest set in 4 weeks. Feeling pumped this season. Thanks to your tips.

I like to tell folks, to get the best out of your PH, throw it like it owes you money! For funzies, I put my Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid down to 500 grit for league and it was a blast to throw!!

@@marke219 I cooked it first, to get the oil out, then brought it down to 500. First few throws, it was really angry. After 3 shots, it calmed down. As soon as it hits the dry, it angles and goes hard! Right now, its more aggressive than my Jackal Ghost, which delights me. Ruthless aggression Widow.

hey Nick, have you rolled the pink b.w. hammer much, I love that ball 15 lb, switched to 14 cannot find one, I am low rev player probably why I like the pink b.w. hammer. I practiced before throwing in league and went 4 games, first time 180-22-228-226. Pink urethane ball of the past now especially on PBA but no one used it there, asym urethane is right for me, probably not tour players and others that roll ball more like they do. have 14 Track Archetype use sometimes, almost always good for one 250+ game, deeper I go into set with it I lose corner pin carry. I enjoy your House of Pain videos and different ball choices you make, have a good end to your 2024 year, later

This is ironic, Nick. I broke out my purple hammer this week in league too. Haven't thrown it in over a year, but I've been in a bad slump so I thought what the hell. I crushed em! Glad to see I'm not the only one throwing urethane in league sometimes.

I think it is cool for you to throw the purple pearl hammer urethane all 3 games. In my league we have burned up oil so lots of carry down and I usually throw my green pin purple pearl hammer urethane with 120/500/1500/3000 to have it go down further to 30 feet area and I am currently now throwing a old Brunswick turquoise plastic rhino but I have at 120 /500and my ball drilled out polish on it and first night throwing it last game 267. I love the way sanded plastic balls react to the burn on old wood lanes and on old synthetic lanes it is my perfect picture ball motion.

@@YoPhocFays I'm new too, I've only have been bowling for 10 months. Some old folks have a stigma against Urethane balls and try to dissuade me from using them. I throw 16 pound balls and the Purple Hammer is the densest ball. It was hard to get use to at first. I definitely had to do some strength training and watch slow motion release videos to get control over it. Now I use that and a Black Widow Pink Urethane at the start of league.

If you’re new, you might like the NU Blue Hammer better because you’ll get the Purple motion out of a reactive ball. True urethane like the purple does have limits, kinda like what Nick was saying where “you just try to keep it in play and hope for the best”. Not saying you shouldn’t get one, you absolutely should have one in your bag whether shooting spares, first ball out the bag etc, I have a Black Hammer myself lol but more so saying if you have a small arsenal right now, NU is probably a better choice to start

If I bowled league, my 2 ball arsenal would be a purple white dot and a purple hammer. Been throwing a burgandy white dot but it's starting to crack a little around the fingers. (probably too many strikes😀)

I scouted different bowling balls for like 2 weeks I decided on the black widow 2.0 1st week I shot 245 215 198 for league this week I got 705 series 263 256 183 I haven’t bowled in 4 years competitive so by the 3rd game I’m tired ima stick with it am see if I can’t shoot 300 with this ball the 263 8th frame I opened struck out so I’m close

Thanks Nick , I hope it’s not to much trouble editing league night . I like the commentary. Is a urethane ball a must have ? I have room for one more ball I mostly play down and in , which is what urethane does . I do adjust my hand position , speed and my rev rate to lane conditions.

Do I see mark totals on the overhead? That's amazing. My local houses switched to automatic scoring before my age bracket made enough marks per game for it to matter

Very nice last game. Never thought you would squeese this game out after lane transition. The 9th frame you were too excited and getting in there. Because of that you threw it too Quick just like the second game. Nice series! How were the scores of the other players on the same lane? Were they affected by two purple Hammers?

@@idahospyder1620 all balls carry down oil, even reactive. Dull reactives affect the lanes more IMO because they’ll burn up the fronts faster with more flare.
